Because I'd probably be tortured in one of their Abu Ghraib prisons.

I don't think the problem here is the troops but with the Commander in Chief. The troops are doing a fine job and a very risky one? By the way do they all have body armour now? Are they sitting ducks for snipers? Are they equipped with the most up to date technology? Are they properly rested or have some been on duty for extended times. No one questions the troops buddy, it is the Commander in Chief that I worry about, the guy that declared Mission Accomplished about 2 years ago.

There's a difference between supporting the troups and between agreeing with every cause they are sent out to pursue.
The troops themselves may or may not have joined up because they believed in a given cause - they have to follow orders regardless. No matter what their politics, many will get jettisoned with PTSD, which will be a very sad thing indeed.
Addendum in response to another user's comment asking why there aren't Anti-war/Pro-Troops protests:
There are.

Question for all the Fox News watching talking points sputtering Bush ball-licking sheep who blindly agree with everything your neo-con overlords tell you. Since you are so in favor of fighting "terrorists" why don't you enlist in the Marine Corps, go to Iraq, and get shot at and blown up all day? Or don't you have the balls? I have never voted for Bush or agreed with him or his cronies but I did my duty and spent 11 months in Iraq anyway. Guess what? I asked Iraqi people their opinion and you know what they said? They don't like George Bush or the American occupation. That was in 2003 and 2004. How do you think they feel now? I guess this war is just another case of the white man's burden, eh?

I am anti-Bush, but I support our troops 150%. I am married to one of them who happened to spend 9 months in Iraq. And even though I didnt 'stand in front of him', I stood beside him the whole time he was away. I also served my country, it just happened to be during peace time. Bush is driving this country to the ground. I am a firm believer that one can support the troops but not the government that presides over them.

Who used that expression? i think of that's idiotic for 2 motives. a million. Assuming the guy isn't professional-troops, utilising a violent answer to somebody's opinion is erroneous. that's their opinion. 2. Bullets could bypass interior the path of the bodies too at as quickly as. think of of a greater efficient guard for our troops.

good one. I like the fact that when a Conservative asks a Question the libs panic and spout all the usual carp but hay I forgive them they don't know any better. for all of you who say things like if you support them why are you not with them let me just say I have Bean with them and you don't half to be with them to support them it takes Americans being Americans to have America. however I find it repulsive when some people choose to spout liberal crap about our president and out military when they have never served in the military or run for public office themselves not that this is a requirement (but it would help)
the president of the united states of America is Georg W Bush and he deserves the support of the people of this country during a time of war.
I slick willy was still in office libs would demand that America support him
I should know I served during his rain of terror and as a soldier it made me sick to have him has the commander and chief however I still served.

AMEN!!!
See, the Democraps don't stand for anything, THEY LEAN!!! They lean which ever way they "think" & I use that term VERY loosely, people want them to lean. To this day I cannot stand to see the Clinton's faces or poor me Gore. I was hoping they would disappear like all of the stuff from the white house did when they pulled up stakes & moved their circus out of D.C. What cracks me up is that they went to New York!!! THEIR OWN STATE DIDN'T EVEN WANT THEM BACK!!!! How funny is that???
The democraps are so BLANK BLANK that they are not even seeing Iraq for what it is........
CLINTON'S FAULT!!!!!! The pathetic loser even ADMITTED he knew what was going on. And we ALL know what a TRUTHFUL, MORAL, UP STANDING person he is!!!!!! (I did NOT have sexual intercourse with that woman!!!!!!) or this one (I did NOT inhale!!!!) HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!! HOW PATHETIC!!!!!!!
OH!! I forgot, Clinton did lob a bomb or two at Iraq didn't he... I believe they were aimed at a BABY FOOD FACTORY & an ASPRIN FACTORY or some such ridiculous targets. LOOKIE WHAT I DID!!!! LOOKIE WHAT I DID!!!! Typical reaction for a trained "jackass" turning tricks..... OOOPPPSSSS!!!! I mean "performing" tricks.

What kills me in all of this is that the cry baby Dem's forget that most of "their" people have said that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.
The fool that they wanted to put into the white house last time was one of them!
"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002
Even the sorry excuse of a president that they put into the white house before Bush was afraid of the same thing:
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998
The guy that they wanted to beat Bush the first time around had this to say:
"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
The question was not who should be in the white house or who said what from what party. It was do you support the troops.
I have to say that I sure do. I am married to a Chief in the US Navy. :)

I am Anti-Bush.
I do believe he is just one man though, he can't do everything, but I don't agree with his views, that's all.
You would probably see me as a hippie.
Guess what? I haven't ever hugged a tree.
I am liberal.
I believe in equality, so sue me.
I have never cried for my views...
I DO STAND BEHIND MY TROOPS
Find the question about what it means to support your troops and maybe then you will understand.
