1) The world is estimated to be about 4 billion years old
2) The oldest person in recorded history has not exceeded an age of 120 years old, so your grandma does not have friends over 6000 years old.

The earth is older than that, the Bible doesn't say how old the earth is, but man has only been around for some 6,000-7,000 years. The Bible does not state how long each creative day was, Gods timing is not the same as our timing.
