What does one have to do with the other? If a blind man cannot see, it doesn't mean he can't hear either. In fact, since he can't see, his hearing is more attentive. A dog may have good hearing, but it seems to be replacing a shortcoming from another sense. Better hearing because he's blind or can't see very well. That's a possibility. (visual shortcomings).
