Killing someone for any reason whatsoever is immoral unless in self-defense. These so-called suicide bombers who kill others "in the name of God" are merely EXTREMISTS. Do not judge.

No, if God authorizes you or commands you to kill someone it is not murder. Life and death is in the hands of the Lord.
You shouldn't rule out the possibility either. Many times, in the Old Testament, God commanded that his people kill other people, MANY TIMES.
The New Testament didn't change this. Jesus came as a lamb and he came to give his life, so he didn't resist that. But the night before he was betrayed he told his disciples to buy swords. Up until that time he had been welcomed by the people because he fed the multitudes and healed their sick. But when he left, he knew that his disciples would be hated and scorned by people, and therefore he commanded that they purchase swords, even if it meant selling their coat.
The New Testament also commands that government use the sword to execute criminals in Romans 13. Obviously this is not murder.
We are to turn our cheek if someone slaps us. But notice that the passage specifically says “if someone slaps you on your right cheek”. Though this is often overlooked, the passage implies a back-handed slap, not a life-threatening punch. Read the context, this passage is not about other people’s safety, it is about yourself and your desire to “get even”. Here we are told to control our retaliation and leave revenge up to God. We are told to lie down on a butcher block without protesting or resisting.
It is not murder to defend yourself from an aggressor. However, it is murder if you allow someone to kill you and others without killing/stopping them.
Sincerely, Zach Doty

Wrong.
Doing something "in the name of God" doesn't whitewash the action. Actions are either good or evil on their own. We can no more commit murder "in the name of God" than we can commit theft, adultery, rape, or falsehood "in the name of God" and have it become a moral act.
This is a religious fraud, committed by so many people, that the unbelievers of the world now cannot tell what IS a morally good act, and what IS NOT. It is a spiritual false advertising, or identity theft.

I think its murder. I mean, why would god want a persont o kill his creation. If god really wanted them dead, he could kill them himself. I know that my answer probably doesnt sound so great, but its just how I feel. I believe in god and I have faith that he wouldnt want people killing others in his name. killing someone is murder no murder no matter how you look at it. in self defense, intentionally, by accident, in the name of god. they are all murder at some degree.

You can kill someone in the name of God, but that doesn't mean God agrees with it. God doesn't ask us to kill people. He asks us to turn the other cheek. So it is murder.

Murder is murder..regardless of who's name you do it in. People who kill in the name of their god say that because they don't want to accept responsibility for their taking another life.

Murder is murder. Whether it is in the name of "god" or not doesn't matter. God is just the main "reason" alot of people use to try and justify themselves for doing such a mortal offense.

Don't believe everything you see on TV, or the news. Yes, it is murder to kill someone, no matter whose name you hide behind to excuse the crime.
What part of "Thy shall not murder" is hard to understand??

If people kills whether or not it is in the name of God whatever religion it is murder. Jesus commanded us to Love Thy Neighbour as Yourself and to offer the other cheek. There is no commandment of violence or retaliation.

Legally- it is murder.
Since there is no God- it is murder.
(You could say you killed a person in the name of your family, but once again, it's still murder)
