I am doing a project for one of my classes, you can read more about it from my other question, but I was wondering what kind of things made toddlers happy. I have so far a balloon, stuffed animal, a ball, and a book....any others would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I just read your other question. One way to introduce the idea to the preschoolers would be by reading a book so they understand what you are talking about. Preschoolers aren't able to interpret things like emotions very easily, as these are abstract ways of thinking, and aren't very concrete for young children.
Two books you should look at the library for are:
Today I Feel Silly: & Other Moods that Make my Day by Jamie Lee Curtis
The Way I feel by Janan Cain
I haven't looked at these books in a while, but both seem to express the emotions, feelings, and facial expressions that toddlers can relate to.
Introduce your lesson by reading a story first. (Professors always like when you relate things back to literature and reading...)

*** balloons are choking hazards *** toddlers feel like they are at the center of the universe. language skills are really taking off right now. (just talking with them, playing silly games)(make up your own games and stories, ad-lib other longer versions of preschooler stories, use props to tell the stories)

Preschools are for the parents that want to send their child to when they don't want the responsiblity of handling their children themselves.
