I attended a Mass one time where yes the priest did confirm this...but it's not what you think. The Catholic answer to "are you saved?" is "not yet" meaning you have to die first in order to enter into eternal life. You're judged first, then you're saved, just a different perspective. So what you're saying is misleading. If you can point to a specific day and time you were saved, great. Calvinists, who believe the saved are chosen by God, not by any free will of Man, thus look to their salvation as from the beginning of time. Who is correct? But don't look at Catholics as damned. They just look at the same God from a different angle.

Your anti-Catholic link is taking single lines of 1,000 year old translated Latin documents completely out of context.
Today, in English, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
+ About Non-Catholic Christian Churches: "Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth" are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: "the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements." Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church. All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him."
+ About Judaism: "The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant. To the Jews "belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ"; "for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.
+ About Islam: The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.
+ About other non-Christian religions: All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city.
With love in Christ.

Believe in the word of the Bible to know how a person will be saved. The question you should ask is which part of the Bible claims that only Catholics are saved? Thats why you should know yr Bible well and have a deeper understanding of it. Also allow Jesus and Holy Spirit administer to you on yr daily tasks and thoughts then you will have no need to question.

You really should read the Catechism from a site that is not blatantly anti-Catholic.
Following is what teh Catechism teaches:
"Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth" are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: "the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements." Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation,

The Pope may say what he wants, but in the end he has no say in it. Only God.
In fact, Jesus told a Samaritan woman that the Jews were wrong in saying "You can only pray to God in the synagogue," and said that so long as your heart is right with God, you can pray and worship anywhere.
If any Catholic thinks catholicism is the only way to worship God and be saved, let them prove it in the Bible.

Since when did the Pope say that????
I think I would know a few things about the religion I have been devoutly following since I was a baby......and we do not believe that you will go to hell if you aren't Catholic. If you live a good, moral life, and do acts of good will, then you are pretty much not going to hell.

That's news to me. As far as I'm concerned, if a person IS Catholic, they aren't saved. I am not Catholic and I KNOW I am saved. I don't need the Pope of Rome to tell me anything. He is after all, just a man.

The Pope is as normal as the rest of us, He's a sinner as well.
God was here before any type of religion came along, far as I am concern, take all religion and trash it.
You make a personal connection with God, why would you need religion, your just tripping over it.
All religions are the same, to where what the Pope is trying to says. Joesph Smith said that Mormon Church is the true church. don't you see, they all have a line, to get you to go to their church. TRUST ME, GOD IS IN MOST 99% ALL CHURCHES, as long as there is one soul true believer there, so is God. God was the one that told me to go to all churches, not to join any. I don't have anything to gain, like the rest of those so called leaders. just that I want you to know the truth, that's where I am the most sensitive is on truth. JUST ASK GOD.... he knows me, better than I do. Trust me connect with God, you'll know what I mean. I say combine all Nations, merging all religions as one entity under God, that would make every day brighter as God smiles every day:)

I don't think you can find in the Bible that Catholics are not saved. What the Bible says is there is ONLY one way and that is Trusting Jesus Christ as your savior and having a relationship with Him. I does not about a religious preference.

I guess the pope can come to hell with me then. The pope only has authority over the Catholic church, not the rest of us. The rest of us are saved by grace.
