I agree 100% and ignore the people on here calling you names and such. They are the lazy sissies who just kept giving up their lunch to the bully in school, so they are resentful against people with power.

Can you image the heap of trouble we would be in if the press and the libs acted this way in WWII as they do now? We lost more soldiers in one battle in WWII than we did in the entire Iraq war. They just don't understand what it takes to be free because we haven't been threatened in a big way since the Cold War. Same with all the other sissy countries. Easy for them to say "we just want peace" when they know they have the USA to protect them if any country wanted to take over the world.

The war in IRAQ is not about freedom, though it make good politics to talk about as if it is. Iraq was not threatening anybody's freedom, except her own people.
If fact, this so called 'war', it'll never end, it just goes on and on...another day, another attack, on another part of the world. Wherever the US is, the terrorist will be there. Terrorist don't have boundaries. They know how to choose their targets. They've got the know-how and the money. And time too...
So what's the solution? Who's the one going to be jaded by the war? Is this war 'winnable'?

I dont like war... But it something that happens in the world. The fact is that you cant get away from it. So people need to accept that. Im so sick of people whining about the war when its something that needs to happen. What do they expect to do: sit around pretending everything is wonderful while terrorists are killing people all around us and oppressing their own people.

Thank you for that positive affirmation ... of nothing. I haven't read such crap in months. If you ever want to discuss what I mean in detail, you're more than welcome to pay a visit to my infantry company over here in Iraq.
Wars ruin nations. Even successful wars ruin nations, because we lose the best and brightest of our youth, and we lose the wealth of our nation spending it on weapons instead of schools, ammunition instead of medicine, armor instead of roads. We spend ourselves into a deep black hole of a budget deficit that takes burdens generations of our children, and we earn ourselves blood feuds around the world that are remembered for centuries. What great warfaring state has ever prospered forever? The Romans were wracked by civil war and overrun by barbarians. The Germans and the Japanese, both great warrior nations, were pounded into submission, and fought themselves into occupation and defeat. The French and British lost empires after ruinous troubles divesting their colonial legacies. What are we doing in "bringing democracy" if we have to bankrupt ourselves in the process, for people who don't understand the rule of law to begin with?
America was once a great isolationist state that stood above all the Old World hatreds, a place where people of all nations could come to be free regardless of color or creed. Somewhere along the line, the racial and class divide, the adventurism of foreign wars, wholescale involvement in both World Wars, fighting "against communism" and enroaching upon wars and hatred older than America itself sucked the United States into a morass of commitments that serve only to weaken the nation, take the vast majority of its military overseas, and bankrupt the people.
If it weren't for war, we wouldn't have a budget deficit as severe as it is today. If it weren't for "sissy nations" either bankrolling the United States by buying T-Bills, America would have sunk long ago. If it weren't for terrorists from "sissy nations" fighting tooth and nail and refusing to surrender, we still wouldn't be fighting after "Mission Accomplished" four years later. So pray tell, what is a quarter million American troop commitment supposed to do that targeted assassinations and buying allies can't do better? We pander to nations like Communist China, who incarcerate our POWs, shoot down our planes, steal our technological secrets, and we goto full-scale war with nations like Afghanistan and Iraq, that have no strategic lift or capability to hit the American homeland? What, assassination of the right scumbags, paying off the right tribes, and making everyone happy through buying loyalty is too good for us? Didn't we learn anything from the British? Maybe the Venetians?
The people who don't have to fight are precisely the ones who are the most vocal about how cool it is and denigrate other nations when they hardly understand their own. Those who do fight (or claim to) and aggrandize this struggle as some sort of mighty crusade without regard to the consequences of either victory or defeat diminishing this nation, are narcissists. Either way, you fit the bill. Get a reality check.

We need to fight for our freedom. If that means taking the war out of our boundaries, then we do it. I support our troops until they come home.
