Most people would ask these type of questions. It is a valid question to ask.

Why does people expect God to prevent disasters each time there is one whether it's 9/11, the tsunami or from a personal disaster of a lost of a loved one? Jesus already said in the New Testament, that there will be disasters, earthquakes, famine etc.., so we should be expecting them.

The answers are in the Old Testament of the Bible. Take time to read and understand Gods nature.

Didn't you see Him, He was in the heros that went in to save the people, He was in the troops that put down everything to come to the peoples aid, He was in the hearts of America in a time when we have never been closer together, and He left His mark, there is a cross that is all that was left standing from 9-11, It was left naturally, God was there to help us. Since He is in control but also gives us free will, wouldn't an unloving God had just let people kill each other and have mass panic and seperate from one another. He is a loving God, because He pulled us together. Only a loving God could turn what was intended for evil, into good.

I don't have my own personal God, but I was at work when those poor misguided people killed those innocents on 9-11. Were I God, if only for a moment, my one task would be to end this freakin stupidity Right Now!!!

Agree with another poster in this thread that a question like this doesn't really help anything. It'll just incite more conflict. Besides, the response you'll get from most is that "free will" somehow encompasses both being able to desire to commit horrible acts, as well being able to carry out those acts. Makes no sense to me, but hey, it's all just an ad hoc hypothesis.

God is not responsible for man's badness and wickedness.Adam and Eve our first parents chose to disobey their Creator and chose to govern their own lives. So Jehovah God is allowing time to prove whether man can or cannot rule himself.
The Bible also tells us that Satan is the 'god of this system of things' and the 'whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one'.So Jehovah is not to blame for what we see around us today. He created the first human pair perfect and designed them to live forever in a beautiful garden paradise. It pains our Heavenly Father to see man's inhumanity to man.
The Bible does however, promise that a time is coming very soon now, when Jehovah will step in and rid the earth of all wickedness and opposition to Himself, and the earth will once again be restored to a paradise where only the righteous will reside.(Ps 37:9-11,29;Rev21:3,4;Dan.2:44)

Read the bible...read the book of Revelations. I know my God is coming back for me. I'll be praying for you. MY God was where he was suppose to be for 9-11. It's funny because after that happened that's when everyone wanted to pray, and go to church...it's a shame that such a tragic event had to happen to make people turn their lives over to Christ. God knows what's going on with His people...don't worry about where OUR God was. Just know this, Jesus said "i will make the enemy your foot stool." The people responsible for that will definitely get what's coming to them in due time.

Be blessed...

My God got me hired on that date, a job for the first time out of high school. Other people who did not catch a plane that day, or called out late to work at the twin towers, were the one's that God kept for a reason. They did not need to be there...My best guess...

If your question is about the God of America, he was in kindergarten
reading "My Pet Goat"
and he froze when he was told that America was under attack, and he must have farted stink of ham and eggs,
and he had to be told a second time
before he rose in his wet pants
and ran for cover in the skies,
the first to zigzag Air Force One
and the first God of USA to go underground for cover,
before he rose again three hours later.
and then he called Dad,
who told him to go for Saddam,
but Bill wanted Usama,
so they stopped off in Afghan territory,
and then went into Iraq,
and God has not had a Sabbath since.

THE God was in heaven, sitting on His throne, rejoicing as many of His true and devoted followers came to join Him in heaven. Although we may look at the victims and regard their life as "cut short", God looks at them and knows that they lived as long as they were supposed to. God bless!

He was everywhere at the same time like He has always been. if you mean, why did He let it happen, it's because he gives men the choice to act. it's their choice as to what they do. it doesn't mean that God is stand-offish or cruel, He gives us free will because He loves us and wants us to love Him back by choice.
