Hearing delayed for illegal immigrant suspected in killing of elderly woman
A preliminary hearing for a man accused of murdering his elderly neighbor was continued to Tuesday in Metro's General Session's court.
Ivan Moreno, 30, who is believed to be an illegal immigrant from Mexico, is accused of killing beating and choking his 74-year-old next-door neighboor.
Moreno told investigators that he struck Mary Sadler after he went to her house to get money, police said.
He is charged with criminal homicide, two counts of assaulting a police officer during his arrest and a domestic assault charge that police said was given after he threatened to kill his wife if she cooperated with authorities.
Federal immigration officials have placed a hold on Moreno in the Metro Jail.

Yes, we all know that we have home grown criminals ... Americans with a capital A ... and that's enough! We're dealing with them because we have to deal with them ... illegal immigrants who are committing crimes here is a different story ... their crimes are PREVENTABLE crimes ... if they weren't here, the crimes wouldn't be committed here ... all this crap about Americans commit crimes too ... yeah duh! We all know that ... does that mean we have to import more people to commit more crimes? Logic, for God's sakes!!! Wouldn't hurt to have a bit on this board from time to time .........

There are 12 million illegals in this country that work hard doing the jobs we don't want to do. A few may do harm but the majority of them are good people that just want a better life. I am glad they are here. We will need them even more to keep social security afloat because they will be paying into the fund. Don't jeopardize the future of Social Security by kicking them out. Make it possible for them to work legally here.

I dislike illegals being in my country as much as anyone else, but that's a flawed argument. It's anecdotal at best; there's no reason to believe that a person is inherently more murderous just because he's here illegally. Show me statistics, and you might have an argument, but at this point, you might as well be arguing against the nationality or status of any murderer in our borders.

I think that immigration has reached a crescendo in this country and people are quarelling over semantics, while stories like this crop up. I think now is the time to get tough and serious with illegal immigration and start enforcing our laws more strictly.

Apparently a lot more because the government doesn't care about the American people, they aren't doing anything just like Katrina they waited and waited until people started to die. And when the next generation of Mexicans grow up most will become gang members as studies have shown. Then it will be to late.

One, stop with the copy and pasting without a named source.
Two, there are plenty of trials that get delayed for plenty of reasons. Don't point a big nasty finger at illegal immigrants for something that is so obviously not exclusive to them.
