Actually, refridgerate because they will slip right off. The cold causes the moisture to condensate between the egg and the shell.
Cold water isnt as good but if your in a rush, put ice in the water while the eggs boil because it really must be ice cold for best results.
Remove shell under running water and you wont have nasty stray bits either.

Shells tend to stick to older eggs - so make sure the ones you are preparing are fresh.
Put a layer of fresh eggs in a pan, cover with water (about an inch over the top of the eggs). Boil the water then turn the fire off and cover the eggs for 18 mins. You now have hard boiled eggs. Cool them with cold water and remove the shells, they will just about peel themselves.

Start the eggs in cold tap water, boil, drain & add cold water. After about ten minutes crack each egg & let them set in the water a few minutes to let the water get between the shell & the egg. Roll the egg on the counter w/the palm of your hand to break up the shell & the shell will slip right off (of course, there are always those few stubborn ones).

What works for me is to boil the egg for about 6-7 mins then turn off the burner and put a lid on the pot for about 2-3 mins. I have found this to work very well. Also as an earlier post said make sure your eggs are fresh.

This is going to sound strange but it works for me when your water starts to boil with your egg in it of course add about a couple of pinches of salt to the water when your egg is through boiling crack the egg shell all over and put it into cold water for about 5 minutes then it should peel right off..I don't know what the salt does but my grandma always did it..

I always add salt to water in the pan and I start the eggs off in cold water....letting them gradually come to a boil.
After they're boiled, I bang them around in the pan to break the shells and then fill the pan with really cold water. Change the water as the eggs warm it up to make it cold again and again. When the water stays cold...peel immediately.
This method always works for me.

After boiling the egg for at least 6 minutes put the egg into cold water for at least 1 minute.
Then crack, peel and enjoy.
Have fun but be safe.

After boiling for about 8-10 minutes, "scare" it under cold running water.

pour salt in the water when you boil it. The salt makes the shell come off real easy and does not get absorbed by the egg itself.
