My great grandma was a really whacked. She loved the outdoors and the wild mountain countries. She always had a vegetable garden and chickens and a real well, with the sweetest water.
She hated housework, and would walk out at the drop of a hat to go fly fishing, made her own lures for years. Killed her last deer when she was 75.
She loved politics and was fiercy independent and patriotic. She loved baseball, too and when they sang the Anthem, everybody in the house had to stand up with their hands over their heart.
I sassed her when I was a teeager and she knocked me down and banged my head on the kitchen floor. She was 5'2". one inch or so taller than I am now. Never over 110 #, wore rouge and dyed her hair black to the day she died at 95. I'll never forget her, she was the most unique grandmama inthe world!

I use to love to go to their house!! They had the most beautiful big house, with so many rooms, and lovely things. I would almost get lost, and was sometimes afraid to be there even upstairs, when they were all down stairs with my parents. They had a beautiful garden full of all colored roses, and always had fresh strawberries for me, knowing they were my favorite! My Step Grandma would always buy me pretty dresses, and I will never forget their house right before Christmas! They had such a gorgeous tree, and wonderful nativity set! My Step Grandma would cook delicious meals for us on Holidays too. How I would love to just be able to see their house again, but now I live about 1200 miles away. They were great memories!

Too many.. grandma and grandpa.. their love for me are endless.. their care for me are second to none.. for a grandparent. What is the neatest thing? We'll cant choose any.. but the latest neat thing was when grandma.. even in her late 80's, travelled 5000 miles away.. facing the harsh cold winter for the first time.. just to be with me for my graduation. Coming to see me graduate is one thing. But u just cant stop her from cleaning my home, ironing my clothes, washing things up and even cooked for me. She's the neatest grandma there is and i love her to bits.

My grandma was a great cook and needle worker. She was really into healthy living and baked all sorts of healthy things. She grew her own organic garden every year and would can the fresh fruits and vegetables. She could knit, crochet and embroider and she was continually working and finishing projects. She never drank or smoke, never broke a bone, never had any diseases. She lived to be 101 and then had a stroke and died within 4 days. I am looking forward to seeing her in Heaven someday. She was a great lady, not worldly wealthy, but wealthy in helping and teaching others. And thanks, this question puts me into level 4. Hurrah!

Hah hah, well... I love my grandparents. Their words are filled with such wisdom. I love listening to their advice and their stories, even if I'd heard the words from them many times before. I cherish the times I spend with my grandmother on the front porch, watching her smoke a cigarette and listening to her tell stories of how when she was little, she would ride her favorite horse. I love my great-grandmother, and how she always has these old wise sayings that can cheer me up anytime I'm feeling down.

I used to spend every Sunday with my grandparents. Grandpa used to pay me to say the alphabet backwards and spell super-cali-fragil-istic-expi-ali-docious. He always carried buckeyes and silver dollars in his pockets. He also always said "next time you come, don't". I can't remember why, but that's what he did. He and grandma used to travel all the time and brought back Christmas ornaments from wherever they went so I have a tree full of irreplaceable ornaments. I remember baking cookies and playing cards with grandma.

I remember sitting on my grandpa's knee and him reading to me. I don't remember what he was reading, but I can see him wetting his thumb before he turned a page. I also remember the rabbits my other grandpa kept and how my grandma would fry them up for Sunday dinner, just like chicken.

My granparents use to live on a farm in Van Alstyne, Texas and I used to spend my summers visiting them. I used to love to walk with my Grandpa out across the pasture to check on his cows or gathering eggs from the chickens and swimming in the creek was always a fun pastime.
The smells of the farm is what I remember the most, and I loved, absolutely loved playing in the barn and climbing up in the hay loft and just laying there for what seemed like hours day dreaming about all kinds of things.
The worse thing ?? I remember one time having cereal for breakfast and my Grandma getting me some freshly squeezed (not OJ) but goats milk --- still warm from the goat -- gross ! still makes me sick to think about it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And my other favorite but pretty gross memory was of my old Great Granny -- saying we were having chicken for dinner as I was following her out to the chicken pin -- and she just grabbed a chicken and snapped its neck -- and it just lay there flopping around for a while, until I realized that was dinner -- Just like that -- snap, like it was no big thing -- dinner is ready -- Man they dont make Grannies like they used to !!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
