you can do droopy the dog i havent seen him in a long time, the rugrats, quick draw McGraw, Marvin the Martian, Flintstones, the jetsons, some of the oldies not the new crap they make today

I could give you some possible suggestions here but I don't think I will. The reasons being that I think you should come up with your own concepts, being as original as possible. Create your own characters.

Try taking a sketchpad to the park or just set out on a busy city sidewalk or in a busy shopping mall and watch the people pass by. Humans come is all shapes and sizes and display unique personalities. Pick out the ones that seem the most exaggerated to you, the post pompous or cartoonish and take it from there.

You could even do this with a camera and work from the photographs.

you could do an animated cartoon that came out in Korea called Sky Blue. anime cartoons are pretty cool. but since you wanted something classic, the only cartoons I know of are; Popeye,or who Framed Roger Rabbit, but that was a half animated movie. If you can't find any classic cartoons, try looking at Japanese comic books. their pretty cool artists. try going to www.shojobeat.com, and you'll see. Hope I helped:)
