Atheist...........peple who do not believe in a god or demons, life after death or hell. An Atheist is ussually someone who makes a set of moral codes based on society they live in or personal feeling. Many have great respect for nature and things natural while others dont have any belief whatsoever. They just live their lives howthey choose.

An atheist believes that God is a myth. There have been many gods in past cultures: Zeus, Thor, Loki, etc. Modern people now recognize all of these gods as mythical. Atheists believe that all gods are mythical, including the God of Abraham.

The three religions Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all share the God of Abraham as they are all based on the Hebrew Bible. I am atheist with respect to this God, because I believe the stories in the Hebrew Bible are all myths.

I am agnostic with respect to the broader question of whether this universe was created by some supernatural being. Here I use "agnostic" as meaning "I don't know, and I don't think it is knowable."

The definition of atheism (true definition) is not just the disbelief of any one god. Atheism is the lack of belief in anything outside of the physical realm of existence. This means that a true atheist will not believe in the soul, the afterlife, any particular god, and possibly love.

As far as I understand, an atheist is a person who believes there is no god.

I think a lot of people who call themselves atheists are possibly agnostic... I discovered this about myself a few years ago. An Agnostic, when asked questions like "is there a god?" or "how did life begin?" says: "I dont know - Nobody can possibly answer that question"

This is contrasted with an atheist, who "knows" that there ISNT a god, just like a christian "knows" there is one.

This is one of the discussions on Y!A that I'm really interested in... if you want to talk more about it, feel free to message me.

Come on peeps, she said "your" definition of Atheism

I call myself an Antitheist, I am against organized religion as a man made and run organization can not hope to speak for a God. I believe that no good can come of a lie, trying to build a good society out of lies is like trying to build a tower on soggy foundations. I am not that bothered about weather God/Gods exist or not, If a God exists I do not believe that he would care about what way we face when we pray, or any of the other traits of organized religion. He would surely want us to think for ourself as we are fortunate to have the ability to do so. I don't think Atheist is a strong enough term to describe my disrespect for religion.

For me I don't believe the Christian doctrine that god created the world and everything it by creation or intelligent design, with that said I understand the basic concept of good and evil, being kind, loving, tolerant and understanding. Much to contrary belief Atheists don't chew the heads off of bats...anymore!
