He never changed, man changed him because they did not want to submit.

The sacrifices in the OT were a picture of the salvation to come for those who were looking forward TO the cross - When Jesus came, the sacrifices were no longer necessary because we got the revelation of that salvation.
God's perfect instruction still stands.

Animal sacrifices were first used in the old law covenant. But with the coming of Jesus Christ, the ultimate sacrifice, his death proved that animal sacrifices were not needed any more. His sacrifice was for once and for all time. So, God didn't change. He just had a loving son who was willing to give his life as an exchange for the lives of many. We should look to this Ransom sacrifice as the most loving act anyone could do for their fellow man.

There was not change. God always knew that animal sacrifice could not remove sin; that is why the Jews had to keep doing it over and over. The blood of animals was a covering for their sin, but it did not get rid of them and actually cleanse the people.

God's plan was always to offer His Son as a true sacrifice, not only as a covering atonement for sin but as a cleansing for sin, a removal of sin from people. Jesus did not take away the capacity to sin, but rather paid the price for sin.

This does not represent a change, but rather a fulfillment of the nature and plan of God. Sacrifice and blood are the some of the elements of atonement, and those did not change.

The animal sacrificies were done before Christ came to earth
(Old Testament), but Christ was the sacrifice when He came
down to earth to show His people how to live, and He died on
the Cross (as planned), but gloriously rose from the grave
after 3 days. These times became known as the
New Testament. Only things changed, but God never
changed one bit. He is, He was, and He will forever be.
(and it doesn't matter whether you believe it or not because
it is the whole truth and things are happening just as predicted
in the Bible, and life will end just as stated in the Bible).

We humans finally grew enough that GOD could stop the burnt animal smells, and other focusing tricks. Humans reached a point where they could focus without the "extra" helpers. GOD has not changed humans finally grew smarter, to understand more concepts.
Jesus came to teach, and to open the gates of hell, freeing some souls that were wrongly there. (I of course can't prove this - I am uneducated.) Also Jesus understood what was going to happen, being GOD how could he not. He talked in parables so only the chosen could understand. The Holy Spirit came to the faithful to explain concepts that needed explaining.
Humans always think GOD changes, flip-flops, lies - It is sad how humans think so highly of ourselves and so poorly of the CREATOR.
This is what I think.
Also if you choose to not follow Jesus then GOD has given you enough evidence to be comfortable your whole life. But seriously GOD follows his plan, and for what I think - has not changed, no reason to.

The sacrificing of animals was symbolic of the sacrificing of Jesus later on. The patriarchs looked to them coming of Jesus and to atone for their sins, they provided pure sacrifices, a lamb. Then when Jesus came and died He was the perfect lamb for all of us, and all our sins were atoned for if we just believed in Him. Believing in Christ is now the way to heaven. God never changes, He just lets us in on His plan little bit by little bit, too much would overwhelm us.

God didn't change. Animal sacrifices never saved anyone. They were a picture of what was to come. With Christ's blood we no longer need to sacrifice animals.

Ephesians 5:2
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Hebrews 9:26
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

In Christ,

God wanted to test Abraham by ordering him to sacrifice his son... to see how faithful he was

Abraham passed the test..... when Abraham was about to do it, God replaced his son with a lamb instead.

Animals were symbolic of the real sacrifice which would come. Animals could never be enough to make up for the treason against God that humans were involved in.

God said without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. So where is the change in God.
