I recommend reading more about Rosa Parks by googling her name. You need to know that she was one of at least three women screened and finally SELECTED by the N.A.A.C.P. to begin the Montgomery bus boycott. She was coached by officials on what to do on that bus and what to do at the police station. She was brave enough to do it, but it was a PLANNED act of civil disobedience.
The tired feet story is like George Washington and the cherry tree. A fictionalized representation of the character of the real person.
It takes nothing away from what Rosa Parks did for America to tell the whole truth. In fact it may add to people's understanding that gaining civil rights was a strategic process and not a series of random actions carried out by frustrated people that just happened to work.
Good luck with your paper.

And have you read a book about her yet?
Her best leadership skill was her willingness to see through, to the end, what she started by staying where she was when she was ordered to stand for that white person on the bus..
She could have gotten up, but, that wouldn't have been right and we'd never have heard of her, but, her poor tired feet kept her in that seat and the rest, as they say, is history..
Read about her at your library..
