Its actually a myth. The theory is that you shouldnt eat at night, cause your not moving, and your not gonna burn it off. But in actuality you should eat small meals throughout the day at regular intervals. Its helps your metabolism if it has food regularly. You should gorge yourself and then go to sleep. But eat regularly thoughout the day regardless of what time it is. Think about it if you have your last meal at 6, and you dont eat agian till 7am, for breakfast, thats 12-13 hours without food. And say you have only three regular meals between 7am-6pm, it throws your metabloism into wack. But do try to eat healthier at night. It will help you sleep better if you avoid fatty, gassy, sugary foods. Ohh and no caffine at night.

I don't know never made me gain any weight...wish I could tell you. Yes if you don't have an extremely fast metabolism you shouldn't eat late or close to your bedtime...time is relative to your schedule so 7 may not be the time you need to stop eating...

They say don't eat after 7:00 because they believe eating late is related to weight gain. They also say do not eat within two hours of going to bed. This is because of your metablolism, and the fact that is slows it down.

It really doesn't make a difference. They believe that because you sleep after you eat, it will make you fat. No matter when you eat, you accumulate the same amount of calories. Just make sure you excercise if you don't want to be fat..

So you will wake up starving and eat breakfast. Many people don't eat breakfast and that adversely affects the eggs, pork and cereal industries.

yes it could be your metabolism, but you shouldn't because its harder to burn off the carlories after six, so you gain more weight. I 'm a diet so i just drink lots of water
:) hope that helps

The average person will not burn enough calories at night to compensate for the food intake. If you don't have the average activity pattern, say for example, you work at night, then this won't apply.

Well because you should wait a good 2-3 hours before going to sleep. If you don't then it can cause heart burn, upset stomach, etc.

"eat after eight, gain weight" I have heard.
usually we are more sedentary in the evening and so not revving our metabolism, using energy to burn off what we crammed in our mouths!
