All I had to do was call. When I received the bill, it had increased and when I inquired BS said I had been on a special price for a year and that they hadn't increased my bill because it would have increased anyway. Does this sound like I have been scamed?

Well i am a bellsouth customer as well. I did have bellsouth dsl standard when i first signed up and it was a one price deal for awhile. But then they offered me that Super FAST Speed for 33.95 and i signed up for that. And then a few months later, the price went upwards to 44.95 just becasue i added cingular wireless to my plan. But if you want to stay at DSL Standard for 24.95, then stick with it.

Make sure that the upgrade to DSL includes a FREE DSL Modem and self installation kit/technician installation as wll. Often times, the Bells will charge up to $80.00 for a DSL modem.

Also, remember that if you ever choose to get rid of your landline phone, your DSL will have to go too. All telephone companies that offer DSL currently require a landline phone. Some are coming out soon with what is known as 'naked DSL' which does not require a landline 'phone number' just a cable.

You might want to get back with BS's customer-no-service again.
Tech Republic just had an item in their news letter re the FCC getting on Bell South's case and BS is going to roll back some of those price raises.
