This is one of those quesitons people who have never been through real combat ask. The truth is, when your out in the field, in the thick of it, especially over there, enemies and friends look exactly alike. We are NOT fighting a traditional war where both sides wear two different colors or uniforms so you could tell eachother apart. No, we, americans, are wearing uniforms. Those rag heads that are shooting at us, (please not, i don't call all arabs or muslims "rag heads". Its meant towards those cowards that throw and hide) wear the same clothes as those around them on the street. The civilians that people are so concerned about might actually be the ones shooting at us. I say this from experience because it is something both my Marines and I went through on a regular basis. If they killed those two "civilians", they were doing something that seemed out of place to Marines.
As for the comment on bush, how can you have a true opinion on the matter if you weren't there and probably don't know the whole truth. The only ones that know the truth are those two Marines and those civilians that are dead. From there, like with practically everything else on the news, is speculations. If he fogives/pardons them, its because they put their lives on the line while all the war protestors sat on their asses drinking their starbucks coffee and trying to find a way to avoid the draft if it were ever to start up again.
To those two Marines that are facing these charges, Semper Fi if you did what you thought was right and you did it to save other Marines lives. If not, well, each of us faces judgement here and then.

Yes, you are absolutely right, Richard Cranium. Doing away with innocent Arabs is certainly the American way. After all, wasn't it a damn good Republican Plan to build those twin towers right there in New York City in 1967 because those Grand Old Boys were certain that the towers would certainly be just the obstacle in the way of those two innocent Arab boys learning how to fly those big fuel-guzzling jets. Those poor boys never knew the evil the Republicans could contrive simply by building 2 large buildings right in their flight path. SHAMED??? YUP! The Marines should be shamed that they didn't think of it first. Are you related to John Murtha? I was wondering because you two seem to have the same mind set - twisted. And your time in the military was wasted. Damn, 6 years in and nobody ever took a pot-shot at you while you were sleeping? Your profile shows you were Army. They should be shamed on giving you an honorable discharge. They should be shamed they weren't better at taking pot shots at you while you slept.

For like the twentieth time, the entire Military isn't responsible for the ones that screwed up. And I'm sure the majority of the Marines aren't ok with one of their own doing anything illegal to innocent people.
And that is such crap that President Bush will pardon some Marine who has been sent to prison for the rest of his life, or to death row for killing an innocent civilian! President Bush doesn't think that is the American way!
Why won't you base you question's on true facts instead of making stuff up? It's awfully weird how you always seem to come up with these stories and quotes that the rest of us never hear of in the news. No matter how much anyone hates President Bush, I think most people would agree that he would never be stupid enough to tell the public he's going to pardon some Marine who killed innocent Iraqi civilians! Bush would be digging his own grave if he said that!

Are you ashamed of being American because someone killed Jon Benet? Why would an entire group of Marines being ashamed because 2 or 3 were bad eggs?
The President Bush has pardoned the least number of people than any president & no military men. The last Soldier pardoned was a black soldier pardoned after jis death who was falsely charged by bigots.
Try reading before asking mean & uninformed questions.

If guilty, they show be punished to the maximum extent of the law. If it is the death penalty, so be it.
But how did Bush get put into this? And obviously you know nothing about American armed forces. They take their positions as protectors of America and your rights very seriously. If these men are guilty, they are safer in the brig, than with the American servicemen the dishonored.
Do you have some insider information about Bush's plans that is unknown to others? Or, are you just one more bitter Liberal.

Once again, I see no source for this article. I'm sure it's something that you made-up so that you can get attention and try to turn people against the troops. It's a pity you couldn't cut it in the military, but not everyone is like you. There's alot more good in the military than bad. As for military crimes, if they did commit these crimes, they will be punished accordingly. As of now, nobody has been found guilty and Marines have no need to be ashamed. A couple bad Marines, doesn't make them all bad. Now quit hating on the Marines just because you're not good enough to be one of them. You make Americans ashamed of your posts.

not all marines but only the ones who committed these crimes should be ashamed. to lump all the marines into one mindset or to accuse others who are innocent of these same crimes is in itself shameful. its called bigotry. you have a history of baiting and harassment and your agenda is clear you hate america, the military, republicans, conservatives, women and men anyone who doesn't share your viewpoint...its a wide world out there full of interesting ppl from all walks of life that your should try very hard not to generalize and judge otherwise someone might accuse you of being narrow minded.

Yeah, the Marines should be the first who want to see these guys tried. It would ensure the honor of the Marines. Besides, it's not like we've never tried soldiers (deservedly) for war crimes before - look at Calley.

Ummm... consider the fact that a lot of the terrorists out there pose as civilians, and that if we don't take that into consideration a lot more Americans would be dying out there. About the death penalty.. . the same awaits those soldiers who don't shoot. Because you know what... some of those "innocent Arabs" are the ones that place the roadside bombs. Think about that.
-PS: I'm also a veteran and my job was to find those "innocent farmers" that are killing our troops and people like you made it nearly impossible. THANKS.
