My beliefs, for me, have always been about the moral issue....

These people are humans being treated like animals, all the derogatory and horrible statements made of undocumented workers....

I don't care if some of these people don't like me or my answers....I will continue stating my convictions, regardless of the legal issue....

For me it has always been about humanity.....Laws, come and go, remember slavery, was once legal in this country .....What happened with that?

It is not a competition for me. I have never seen it as a competition. Anyone that has really has issues.

The debate is stagnant because no one is going to change their point of view.

As your moral beliefs drive you, my moral beliefs do as well. I believe with all of my heart that anyone in this country must follow the law of the land. Coming over the border illegally is ILLEGAL (hense the term "illegal immigrant"). To me it is morally reprehensable to think that breaking the law is okay as long as you are poor. Because I don't know of many criminals that are rich and break into homes to steal stuff or steal cars. If poor is a defense for breaking the law, I see many defense lawyers eating that one up.

As for racism - I will admit that some of the "anti illegals" are racist, and that is why they oppose it. But a majority of the "anti illegals" oppose illegal immigration because it is illegal in this country, and they are sick of supporting those that do not contribute to the system, they come over to use our "benefits", and they don't even bother to attempt to learn the language here. The entire "race" thing of illegal immigration is rather silly because Mexican is a nationality - not a race, and because there are illegal immigrants from all over the world. So picking one nation's immigrants is wrong for "pro illegals" to defend their point as well.

So is there ever going to be a resolution? Not unless either the US annexes Mexico into the country or removes all immigration laws. Until then, the debate will rage on (and on, and on, and on. . .).

i don't want it be a competition but i guess any time you have two opposing sides to a dilemma it becomes a competition just like elections wars etc you tell us not to bash you yet in your same question you throw in most antis are closet racists but i also agree with the other post why not just forgive everyone that has a speeding ticket ? that person was trying to better their life to get to work on time. honestly i don't know why you want to support amnesty they are not starving there ,they wont fight for a better life , they are not a poor country but its corruption . it is the root of the cause and if you don't fix that nothing is fixed and its a band-aid on a festering sore why should we support mexicos corruption?

If you're going to offer amnesty, then offer it all around. Forgive every person in the United States of every crime they have committed. Let's be fair. If you forgive everyone who cheated on their income taxes, everyone who ever violated welfare laws, everyone who speeds, runs red lights, commits a robbery. Isn't our motto Justice for All???? Where is the justice in forgiving people who have STOLEN identities, NOT PAID TAXES and came into our country ILLEGALLY and not forgiving those of us who are not here illegally for the same crimes? And I stress the work CRIMES!
