My life for close to three years appears to have been a fairy tale. I have been blessed with meeting the woman with whom I shall exchange vows with next May 20. I have learned to love not only myself but another human being. Fairytales can come true, it can happen to you. If your young at heart...

Fairy tales idealize traditional type of relationships between men and women, where the man ends up taking care of the woman he loves.
In today's society, many people scoff at and disrespect this type of relationships between men and women. And in this unsupportive environment, many people start out fairy-tale type of relationships but loose faith once they are into it and end up getting divorced and hugely disappointed.
In a fairy-tale type of relationship, the man ends up being the breadwinner and the father and the woman ends up being the housewife and the mother. And this type of life is totally incompatible with modern competition between men and women in education and at work for social status and money.
When the guy is the woman's competitor, then it makes just as much sense for her to undermine him and take advantage of him as to fall in love with him and marry him. And quite often both happens in one stormy marriage that eventually ends in a very nasty divorce.
You can't be a good competitor and a good lover at the same time. You end up with a conflict of interest, when you try to be both. And perhaps it's this conflict of interest that makes relations between men and women so difficult nowadays.

Yes, I still believe in fariytales. Although at times it seems as if prince charming is taking his sweet ol time.

That's a really interesting question. I wonder the same thing. I always did, but the more I date the less I do anymore. I think that I will always hope that it will happen for me though.

I used to, but the love of my life didn't reciprocate my feelings and now...two years of dating since....I'm becoming quite jaded. Compassion, honesty, and loyalty are very scarce lately.
