although it appears that only you legs move. the leg muscles, tendons & nerves are interconnected with the rest of your body thus your getting a general workout. the bent possition of your upper torso also gives your arms a workout but it will not happen without an appropriate diet.

Yes. When you lose weight you lose it everywhere not just one part of your body. You may notice it more in other areas first, but you are loosing fat from all areas equally. Even if it is riding a bike. You lose weight in other areas because you are burning fat, and your body will use up fat stores from every area of your body, not just that area that you are using in your work out. Something you could do to promote even more fat burning is to start lifting lite weights. You will burn more calories, by adding on muscle. Muscle burns more calories, and burning calories will help you burn fat.

Fat is used to provide energy when you're burning more calories than you're taking in. The fat that's used doesn't have to be in the same part of your body where the most work is being done. The fat is turned into sugars which are put into your bloodstream and go wherever they're needed. Therefore, working one part of your body won't make that part less fat; doing sit-ups won't get rid of your gut. Your body decides which areas will be less fat.
