God always was. He created time, so He isn't constrained by it. It's a pretty hard concept for US to grasp, but a child has better faith than we do. You'll do fine.

First of all, God didn't create Jesus. Jesus is the Word who was with God and who is God - John 1:1,14
So it sounds like you need to learn a little more before you can teach others. That's a good place to be because then you can spend some quality time with your son as you two learn together.
Look at the Free Stuff page @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ and near the bottom you can find some resources for children and all throughout the page you can find other resources for yourself. May God bless you in your journey with Christ, in whose name I pray, amen!

Take your kids to Genesis in the bible. In the beginning is always a good place to start.
As far as God creating Jesus, they are the trinity, one didn't create another.
It can be confusing for an adult, probably more so than for a child, for Jesus says, come to me with faith as a child.
We try to put our ideals and agendas on our kids.
Just tell them that God is God, He always has been and always will be. That you can't understand eternal, but you have faith in God. That will probably be enough.

I have 7 children, most can explain their faith better than the adults in our congregation.
Trust me on this one thing please.
You do not have to simplify things for children. Just give them the facts, and they will understand it.
When my 2 year old looks at the cross, he points to it and says, "Jesus died for our sins." While he may not perfectly understand that today, as he grows he will learn more and more about it because our family gathers everyday for devotions where we use Luther's Small Catechism as a foundation of teaching the faith to our children.
I have a 14, 12, 9, 7, 4, 2 and 9 month old. The oldest 3 have all or most of the catechism memorized. They have sat behind me while I have been on this forum able to answer questions that most adults have never understood.
They know these answers because they have been catechized in the faith and know what we believe.

Maybe try finding a Bible believing, Jesus trusting church. You can learn to teach your son and they'll have sunday school and other fun programs for him. God actually didn't create Jesus. It's very confusing. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all one, but yet three. Kind like how and egg is one egg, but there are three parts? God didn't come from anywhere. He's always existed! Impossible to comprehend, I know! What an amazing God we have!

Just tell him what the belief of God's origin is based on whatever denomination you follow, but don't shove it down his throat and don't tell it to him like its a fact. Make sure he understands that what your telling him is a belief. Also, be general with your answers so that he'll understand them. If he continues showing interest in your religion, then you can start teaching him the more complex ideas of the religion. I would suggest on waiting before having him read the bible (or whatever religous text you own) until he is old enough to read AND understand it.

Go to the Christain book store. There are many different levels for kids and all the way to adults for questions, devotions,Bibles, toys, and clothes, etc. He will understand more if he sees a book or toy while it is explained. Take him to sunday school and Vacation Bible school and let him learn also. Teach him while he is interested because there will come a day when he will rebel from God and everything when he is trying to figure out who he is! Make sure he has a good base knowledge of God and good values from your home so his venture will be easier for him. Best wishes!

God leaves some things to our imagination. The mystery about Him intrigues us to get to know Him more. What a precious little boy to be asking questions like that. I always thought that children are the wisest people on this earth, because they just came from God, pure in thought and action, and wide-eyed to learn all that we have to teach them. Ask God for the words, but its ok to say that you don't know certain things, I keep a list of all the unknowns that I want to ask God one day. Whenever ppl ask me ridiculously hard questions like, "where did God come from" then I just reply , "If I knew that, then I would be God."

Number 1 you need to get your own facts straight. God did not create Jesus christ. Start reading the Bible for yourself.
#2 With children start with the Bible stories. There are hundreds of them in the Bible and the kids love to hear them.
There are Bible clubs, DVBSs, Sunday Schools to help you teach your children.
Key is that the greatest teacher is the Holy Spirit. Pray for your kids.
Good luck, God bless you.

well, you can teach them truth or falsehoods. first off, you can say that Jesus was with God since creation. Jesus is not a created being.
I don't know how old your kid is, but he/she might have difficulty separating concepts of God from things like Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc.
Might find a good children's minister in the area to help with some materials.

UUU that's bad!
God was always!
G if he is going to be a Christian your going to have to learn something about the bible, God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit!
Join a church that teaches the Bible, or he will ask questions you will not be able to answer!
