I think I might have OCD. So can someone tell me if these things I do sound like symptoms.

I wash my hands constantly whenever I touch something that may be dirty and I count how many times I run my hands through the water. I can't sit or touch anyhing at my house when I get home from school or a restaurant b/c I feel dirty, so I change my clothes. Everything in my room is in a certain spot and aligned perfectly like the mattress on my bed is hanging over equally on both sides. When I clean my room it takes me half the day to put everything back where it was. My clothes are all in a certain order and spot in my closet. I constantly recheck things to make sure I did it right. If a spider touches something of my I have to wash it. It takes me thirty minutes to get ready for bed. I have to put cream on my face and hands before I leave the house. I erase things on my homework because everything has to be exact. I'm sometimes depressed and have horrible thoughts about myself.

I am a pharmacy technician and this is what I think:

THE SYMPTOMS ARE:

Anxiety is the most prominent symptom of OCD.

Symptoms of OCD vary with each person and include the following: 2, 4

Obsessive thoughts

*Fear of dirt or germs or overconcern about body smells/secretions or the proper functioning of the body
*Overconcern with order, neatness, and exactness
*Fear of thinking bad thoughts or doing something embarrassing
*Constantly thinking of certain sounds, words, or numbers or a preoccupation with counting or checking
*Constant need for approval or the need to apologize
*Fear that something terrible will happen or fear of harming yourself or someone else

Compulsive behaviors

*Frequently washing hands, showering, or brushing teeth or the overuse of items to hide body smells
*Constantly cleaning, straightening, and ordering certain objects
*Repeatedly checking zippers and buttons on clothing
*Checking lights, appliances, or doors again and again to be sure they are turned off or closed
*Repeating certain physical activities, such as sitting down and getting up from a chair
*Hoarding objects, such as newspapers
*Asking the same question or saying the same thing over and over
*Avoiding public places or taking extreme measures to prevent harm to yourself or others
*Religious rituals, such as constant silent praying

It is common for children

After that. Go talk to your doctor about medicine.

Like

fluoxetine (Prozac)
fluvoxamine (Luvox)
sertraline (Zoloft)

are some.

You have displayed many of the common symptoms of a true obsessive-compulsive. I have suffered from the disorder since the age of six and know all too many cases. If you would like to chat, you may IM or message me. I need a break from the world sometimes and just talk to my own kind for a change. If not, I will just say that you should definitely consult a mental health professional. Best of luck with your OCD!

P.S.: I read in the first answer that it says that you might have a “slight” case of OCD. That’s impossible, just to let you know. There is no such thing. You either have it or you don’t. You can have it in various extremities, on the other hand.

The fact that you're concerned about this suggests that you have OCD. In order to have OCD, you have to have obsessions (in your case, cleanliness, which you described immaculately), compulsions (could be washing your hands whenever you perceive something as 'dirty') and it has to negatively impact your life. Does your cleanliness get in the way of going to work or school? Does it affect how you interact with people in your lives? If so, you probably want to seek professional help; counseling and medications are both options.

It wouldn't hurt to talk to a specialized doctor. don't feel bad about it either, we all have problems, and it accept to accept that and take the steps neccesary to solve it. There's nothing wrong w/ asking 4 help when help is due, so go ahead and see someone you think you can trust. They'll help you see how you don't have to repeatedly do things, how its ok to make mistakes and get a little dirty sometimes, I hope this helps, Good Luck!
