Here's a nerdy but true answer. They share some basic facial characteristics with human babies, like head large for the body, eyes large for the face, small noses, etc. We, as humans, have evolved to naturally find those features adorable, so that we instictively nurture and protect (and not hurt) babies, who need a lot of nurturing and protecting.

Kittens, like human babies, have certain features that turn on our nurturing/parental button. These cute features, such as the large forehead, big eyes, small nose are meant to say to us "love me and protect me from harm".
How else would you be able to change an exploded diaper at 2 AM while still wearing a smile on your face?
When I`m changing a diaper I say "you`re lucky you`re so cute!"

Iam not so certian but my dad used to always tell me (in jest) that Babies were born cute so you couldent bring yourself to choke the crap outta them for waking you up evey moment of the night! Of course I think they are born cute as a defense and often because we as humans just think babies are just so darn cute anyways. But really have you ever seen anything as cute a a two week old kitten? Not hardly!

Mammals fall into the category of animals that must take care of their young. All mammals possess a nuturing instinct.
In theory it's a good survival technique for baby mammals to be cute in the eyes of their parents. If mammals gave birth to repulsive young, we'd have the instinct to abandon or kill the babies, not protect and rear them.
For domestic animals, it's a good survival trait for their offspring to look cute, young, and helpless, otherwise us humans wouldn't spend so much time taking care of them.
Point in case, any deformed babies (human or otherwise), we tend to kill or abandon.

Because its the way you view the certain type of animal....but i do agree, they are VERY CUTE! maybe becuase they are small, and the way they are made, makes them cute

because when they are kittens they are playful, they like to sit in your hands and sllep and are a lot more cute than when they grow up

that's a good question! i'm guessing you're a girl... parshally because girl's have hormones that make them love babies... animal kind too! I definetly agree, they are really cute. I like cats. they fit me. just enough snuggliness, really cute, but independent.

they are cuddly, fluffy, you just want to squeeze them! It is just like babies! They are just so cute!
