The Persian is a friendly gentle loving cat, Persians are meant to be inside cats they aren't built for the outdoors.

Some pure breeds are known to be more vocal or social than others. The Siamese, for example, is well known to be very vocal. Others like the Burmese are known to have a dog-like personality and like to follow you around the whole day. Still other breeds like the Russian Blue are just as friendly but more quiet and less intrusive.
Every cat is an individual and just like humans there are bad seeds and good ones. Almost all cats can be friendly provided they are well cared for and have been socialized with humans the right way from the beginning and were not abused. Almost all the unfriendly cats I've known were either abused by humans, bullied by other cats, or weren't socialized properly as kittens.
If you are determined to find a specific personality type I would recommend that you either adopt an older cat (at least 2 years old) so that the personality is already set or else buy a purebreed from a good breeder.
Also, another thing to keep in mind is that cats tend to mellow out as they age. Like humans, teenager cats are generally aloof and more independent but around 4-5 years old they will settle down and want to be with you more.

Any type of cat would make a good house cat. Right now I have a Russian Blue and he is the friendliest cat ever. I also like Persians or Himilayians. Even those free kittens in the paper can be the best house cat its all how it was raised.

Hi Bev...there are many types of friendly breeds of cats. However, like people some are more outgoing than others and others timid and reserved as well. It all depends on what specifically you are looking for in a pet cat.
Some friendly purebreds are usually Ragdolls, Abyssinian, Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat and quite a few others. Many mixed breed cats are friendly too. Nonetheless, either mixed or purebred it all depends on what you specifically are looking for such as... a lapcat, a cat that is more doglike who follows you everywhere around the home, a cat that likes people, etc.

All I did grew to become into get a settee i grew to become into gentle on and canopy it with a comforter. That made it extra comfortable, the cats did no longer claw it, and that i might desire to bathe it. I frequently used my mini airborne dirt and dirt devil in between washings yet I even have an 11 12 months previous stepson who I enable to eat on the settee sometimes. he's messy so while he slops I basically wash the comforter and the fur comes off. I chosen a beige colour to flow with all colorings interior the livingroom and with the intention to no longer coach the fur. I certainly have 3 cats and a million of the three i'm able to groom all day long on a daily basis yet he sheds like mad. Has for years. no longer something incorrect with him yet he consistently has a super tender coat.

Cats are as different as people are. Some breeds tend to be more friendly than others, but my best suggestion is to adopt a cat from a rescue society. Undetermined breeds are just as friendly as any specific one, plus you'd be giving a sweet kitty a home!!

There probably isn't one type of cat that is friendlier than others, but I have had two black and white "tuxedo" cats, and I have found them to be the sweetest cats. They, and other tuxedos I've encountered, have always been loyal and friendly to their caretakers and other people they meet.

I am owned by a Maine Coon cat-most affectionate and smartest cat I have ever had. He is not aloof as cats are purported to be. He craves attention and knows how to get it.

Breed is not the important part.
Get the kitten as young as you can 6 to 10 weeks, a girl is best. picking one out is the hard part.
When you get it home try to be around as much as you can for about a week and interact with the kitty, hold and pat it as much as it lets you.
