one of the questions is place of birth and then nationality. if i was born in that country and now am a citizen of the US. wat shud I put in the nationality field. american or that country. if it says i was born there and now im a "american" can hurt my chances. wat do you think

You have two nationalities apparently. You can select either one unless the application asks for all of them. Normally you give the nationality of the passport you are presenting: otherwise it looks stupid and makes them wonder.

The previous answer is correct: your place of birth is wherever you were born, your nationality is US if you are now a US citizen.

Why do you think that saying you're American will hurt your chances of getting a visa to another country?

I believe the others are misinterpreting your concern...and it is a valid concern. I work with an American citizen who was born in Pakistan. When we applied for Visas to go work in India, the fact that he has been an American for over 20 years was not enough to overcome the fact that he was born in Pakistan...they denied his request and granted mine. So yes, your birth country CAN hurt your chances.

If you are a citizen of the US, and do not have dual citizenship with another country, you should answer "United States" in the nationality field.

nationality is American place of birth is your birth country,,,,, please i hate to think that you are afraid to state that your an american after all you went through to get this previledge in your shoes i would bold print it AMERICAM .
