"Questions are a burden to others. Answers are a prison unto oneself"--a sign visible in an episode of the 1960s TV series, The Prisoner.

Usually not; but asking the wrong questions can be.

In Daniel 4:35 we read “And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” Here we see it is a sin to ask "What doest thou?" to God. This question is obviously disrespectful and impertinent.

A good example would be Job, when he questioned God. God rebuked him and asked him "Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it." Job 40:2. God them proceeded to ask job a bunch of impossible questions.

Another example would be Matthew 22:35, here it says "Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,". Obviously, this man is sinning by trying to temp Jesus.

Other examples include: Mark 8:11, Luke 20:19-20, and Romans 9:19-20.

Sincerely, Zach Doty

"If we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us." 1 John 5:14

Definitely not! Paul taught Timothy to "Study to show that you are approved of by God." Another verse exhorts us "To be sure of the things we hope for."

God gave us the greatest computer ever created, the human brain. Why would he give it to us and then expect us to not use it?

Many of the best universities in America were begun by Christian organizations. A Christian should be well-informed.

Often, people don't want us to ask questions, because they don't know the answers. Others think that we shouldn't question their leadership. Still others want to control us and want to do all of our thinking. They don't appreciate being challenged.

Jesus taught the disciples that he expected them to understand what he was teaching.

Ask your questions in a gracious and kind manner, Try not to offend. If the response is angry or negative, just smile and walk away.

There are three organizations that could really help you out:

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
Campus Crusade for Christ
Youth for Christ.

They all have websites and would be pleased to assist you and direct you to people who will listen without judging. God bless!!!!!!

No, asking questions is a sign of Intelligence. In some religions who wish to keep people ignorant, it is a sin.

Even a vile, gross, sarcastic, insulting question can elicit an intelligent response which means it wasn't wasted because it got ssomeone thinking.
So therefore I say, NO.
A question is not a sin................
