The neighbor boy always complains that the gum I give him loses flavor immediately; should I give him a box of dental floss instead? Does the flavor of that last longer if you chew on it?

No. Floss flavour doesnt last at all. Its just a mild flavor that you taste when you floss. Its flavors is much milder than gum.

Kagdzila Nikolai, well to answer your question I would deffinitly say no it dosn't, it lasts only about a second or less while your flossing. I should know, I floss every night. The minty feel of brushing your teeth lasts a bit more longer than flossing. I would suggest to pop a mint or chew on a minty gum. You wouldn't want to chew on it either becuase then you would be chewing on wax and it wouldn't help regardless. Hope that helps.

No. But if you need gum that last longer you should get Strite. It last for hours.
