Do you feel guilty praying for something so trivial (such as bill payments or a potential job position) when there are so many people more worthy of prayer?

I can't seem to pray for anything for myself anymore consider all that is wrong with the world.

Nothing is trivial to God. He knows all the hairs on your head, every feather on every bird. He cares for the lillies, the trees, the grasses. Do you think there is anything that you could ask God for that He does not care about? He loves you, He wants to have a relationship with you.

Do not limit God by thinking that if you ask for trivial stuff He won't have time to deal with the "bigger problems." God is infinite, omnipotent. He is without limitations. He cannot be to busy; He is limitless. Time means nothing to God; He is eternal. He does not have a calendar, a to do list, a backlog of requests and prayers. He answers all things according to His will.

Do not be afraid to approach God with things even smaller than your job, your money. Approach God with everything you do, everything you need, everything you feel. There is no guilt in praying to God; the reverse is true. We should consider how we could do anything without God. Why should we as Christians think that we can do anything on our own?

He wants to know when you break bread, when you lie down and when you get up. He wants to hear it from you. Your desires are known to Him, but He wants you to ask Him. He delights in answering your prayers, but you have to ask!

Do not view God as someone who only cares about the big stuff. Just as a parent cares about the drawing of a child in kindergarten (my son just started), God cares about all the details in our life.

God is great. Part of His greatness is that He loves us so much that He does care about the smallest things. Bring them to Him, and feel Him smile upon you.

ya... it is hard not to feel guilty when u are praying for something you want but u do have to consider that even though there is so much bad in the world and you are praying to help it u are doing the Best that you can do! when you pray for things such as a job or money so u can pay a bill it's that you may be acting selfish to some but to me you are asking for it so that you can be able to pay your bills. and it's not like you are asking for money to party with or blow on a pair of pants that cost an outrages price. no. u are asking for help to pay bills!

existence sucks each so often. is this the reason you're asking all of the morbid questions this night? Being bummed is nice, yet emo? truly? you're too previous to get your panties in a wad over an uncomplicated screw-up inspite of each little thing the sunlight will nonetheless arise the following day. And the Bruins will nonetheless play, too. to respond to your question, "panic prayer" isn't something to sense in charge or ashamed approximately. it truly is a mark of your easy humanity and that i think it would be on the checklist you recognize compliment, petition , and panic. Why no longer? all of us does it. Even athiests.

You must keep in mind how much you are loved by God. The price of the life of his only begotten Son. God loves to hear from His children. You are never a bother to Him and anything that is important to you is important to Him. Remember to praise Him and thank Him and pray for others and yourself. But, most importantly, listen with your heart while you read the Bible for what the Lord has to say to you.

Yeah i do feel guilty sometimes but as i learned in church when you pray you're supposed to pray to God like He's your friend. And also God wants us to be able to be happy and i don't think that he would like us to be feeling guilty to pray to him for something that we need even if ther are people in the world who are suffering just to ahve food and stuff.

There's no reason to feel guilty. That feeling doesn't come from the Holy Spirit because it contradicts what the Bible tells us about prayer.

Philippians 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus....19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 4:2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

It's ok to pray for your needs as long as feel committed to making life better for others in whatever way you have the power to do.

I agree, I don't pray for trivial things for myself, since God told us not to worry about the everyday things. He will provide them.

I pray for other people.

Sometimes I feel guilty, but God wants to hear what you want also. So I make sure I pray for other people too.

as Jesus taught us in the Lord's Prayer we are to pray for "God's will to be done" not ours. God may have it to where we may lose everything for the sake of His kingdom, but that's no need to worry because if your in the perfect will of God He'll provide you with everything you need.

I always remind myself of this scripture verse, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33) If we are in the will of God then EVERYTHING we need here on earth to sustain our lives will be provided by Him.

Always pray for HIS will to be done, He knows what you need before you ask Him.
