I have 3 favorites, couldn't choose between them so I'm putting all three of them here, & I've included a couple of my favorite salads, too. I hope that's alright with you! And I hope if you try them you will enjoy them as much as we do!
OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE RANCH DRESSING
1 tsp. Hidden Valley Ranch salad
1 c. mayonnaise
dressing mix (buttermilk recipe)
1/4 tsp. coarse grind black pepper
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. paprika
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Mix well. Cover bowl & chill dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

RANCH DRESSING
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. dried parsley
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. onion powder
pinch of dried thyme
Mix all ingredients together, blend until smooth & creamy. Store chilled in covered dish until serving. Makes 1 cup.
***********************************
DELICIOUS CREAMY DRESSING
2 T. (1 small) shallots, minced
1 T. Dijon mustard
3 T. lemon juice, fresh
1 c. yogurt, plain
1 c. cottage cheese
1 T. mayonnaise
black pepper, to taste
Tabasco sauce, to taste
Blend above ingredients in blender. Toss with salad.
************************************
SUPER BROCCOLI SALAD
2 lg. broccoli heads, fresh
1/2 to 1 c. raisins
1/4 c. bacon, crisply fried & crumbled
1/4 c. onion, diced (optional)
1/2 c. pumpkin seeds or almond slices
1/3 to 1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 T. sugar
2 T. lemon juice or vinegar
Prepare dressing by combining mayonnaise, sugar, & lemon juice or vinegar; mix well, & put aside while you prepare the salad. Wash broccoli & break or cut into small pieces. Add raisins, & crumbled bacon. Pour the prepared dressing over broccoli mixture. Stir to distribute dressing & refrigerate overnight. Just before serving* sprinkle on nuts, & toss.
*************************************
MOM’S CREAMY COLESLAW
1 lg. head cabbage, shredded
salt, to taste
In a large bowl, toss the shredded cabbage & salt, mix well. Cover & set aside while making the dressing.
Dressing:
1 can evaporated milk1/2 c. (or less) apple cider vinegar
1/2 c. (or less) granulated sugar
Mix the apple cider vinegar & sugar into the evaporated milk 1 or 2 tablespoonful at a time, stirring well & tasting each time before adding more of either. The sweetness & tanginess is a matter of taste, literally, as well as a matter of opinion. When satisfied with the results, pour the dressing over the shredded & salted cabbage, mixing well. Cover & refrigerate for at least 2 hours, best if it chills overnight in order to let the flavors meld
