yellow, the reason is there was a song a long, long time ago by tony orlando and dawn called tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree...look it up if you want to hear it, its about a soldier leaving his gf to go to vietnam and he's not sure she will want him back when he returns so he's tells her to tie a yellow ribbon around an old oak tree in their town if she still wants him if not he'll just stay on the bus and not stop..when he arrives in town the whole street is lined with yellow ribbons and the tree is covered in them....

The recognized support ribbon is yellow, but I wear a scarlet and gold one with a marine pin for my marine and all his platoon and unit over in Iraq.
