I was reading the other answers and I believe I have a totally different answer to the question.
Prior to Vatican II (1962-1969), the Black Mass (in capital letters for the B and the M), was the Mass for the Dead.
The priest wore black vestments, the casket was draped in black and most of the Funeral Mass was quite somber. It was a Mass of mourning.
Now, the Funeral Mass is a Mass of Resurrection. The vestments are white, the casket is draped in white and the Mass is a celebration of the life of the deceased.
So, as you can see, my answer is VERY different from the others.

In Satanic tradition, Black Mass is the name given to a ceremony supposedly celebrated during the Sabbath, which was a parody of the Christian Mass. Its main objective was the profanation of the Host, although there is no agreement among authors on how hosts were obtained or profaned; the most common idea is that they were profaned by means of some ritual related to sexual practices. Authors also disagree on which rites were performed during the ceremony.

She is a Christian who God chose to remove a Satanic Priestess from the Satanic Church.
It will tell you waaaaay tooo much about the Satanic Church that you dont' want to know but should, including what is preformed at black masses.
While you are reading it, you should step up your prayer. As it is about spiritual warfare, and they know you are reading it.

Satanists perform the Catholic mass backwards. One of their goals I have been told, is to get hold of blessed bread from a Catholic church so that they can desecrate it.
This is supposed to reverse the power of the mass.
