Unfortunately, there are many ignorant people in the world. Currently, with the threat of terrorism and the violence in the Middle East, Muslims are a very handy scapegoat (like the Jews were for the Nazis after World War I). Because there are a few violent, extremist Islam groups who hate the western world (there are extremists in every religion, including Christianity), people tend to think that all Muslims are violent and are suicide bombers. This generalization is detrimental to religious tolerance that many European countries and the United States pride themselves on.

The media really is to blame for the widespread hatred of Muslims or Islam. It is also in human nature to fear the unknown and if the only the info you are getting about Islam is from the media then of course you probably are not going to like them. It is also important to take into consideration that what we see in the media does not speak for the entire Islamic community...but rather a tiny sect. It is the same in all religions...one bad apple can ruin it for the rest of them. I have a few Muslim friends and they are much nicer than any Christians I know...its sad they are being shown in such a bad light.

I don't hate muslims as I have absolutely no reason to but I blame the media for the hatred felt by so many becsause it is totally unfounded and makes me cross!

people need to hate someone and for now it is the Muslims..they don't try to understand...they place everyone in the same category..as bad..one day it will change..think?? and i do not mean all people feel this way..just most

People are bigoted and scared of what they don't understand, there are many forms of racism towards many different people in the world, there is good and bad in every creed the world over..
