A logical appeal would appeal to one's logic. For instance, using statistics from reputable studies to prove your point. An emotional appeal would appeal to emotions or attempt to "tug at one's heart strings." Those commercials that show starving children to try to get you to donate to their charity utilize emotional appeal.

Logical Appeal

Both are used in argumentative, i.e. persuasive essays. Logical arguments appeal to reason: "Buy this set of encyclopedias because it is the best on the market, at an excellent price, and is updated annually."
Emotional appeals do just that: "If you care about your children's success in school, and in fact if you care about your children's future at all, you will buy this set of encyclopedias." This argument appeals to your love of your children and guilt about what you do for them.

Both approaches are valid, both work. What approach you choose depends on the audience.

BTW, why did you post this in Health?????

An example of a Logical appeal would be: "Please take me shopping Mom, I need some new clothes.

An example of an emotional appeal would be: "Please take me shopping Mom, I need these new jeans...Everyone is wearing them now."
