It hasn't been made for a long time now, and it gets more expensive every year. There used to be a lot of rumors about making it again, but the advent of the .17HMR, which, despite the nostalga of the 5mm, is probably a superior cartridge, it will most likely never be made again. Because of this, the 591 and the 592 aren't worth a whole lot either. The general rule is that if you can get a box of 50 for 50 bucks, you did alright. There is one other option, you can get a different bolt and get a centerfire convestion, for which brass is manufactured, then you can reload it. It isn't real practical though, unless you are a diehard with either a dream or money to burn. If you just like what it does, get a .17HMR instead.

From my understanding, the 5mm is the answer to a question nobody asked. It's one of the "rarer" calibers of ammo to find, collect and shoot, and very costly! I guess if you're into "exotic" rounds the 5mm fits the bill.Good luck with your search!

Good luck finding it, factories barely produce any. The 5mm program was essentially a failure because other gun companies didn't chamber their guns in the 5mm rem.
