throwing bikes, rocks, anything they can get their hands on to destroy and damage neighbors property, their parents do not care, the police say they can't do anything...the same brats even have threatened some of us neighbors with physical harm....

Oh believe me I do want to give them an old fashioned "talking" to, I can't watch my house 24 hours a day, when I am at work my neighbors are sleeping....I love all of the advice, I do need some legal ways to pursue this, regardless of what I really want to do to them.....

Next officer that responds to the incident and refuses to fill out a report, get his name and badge number. Then ask him to call for a desk seargent or you call 911 and request one yourself. The responding officer is duty bound to fill out a report. Also, contact the mayor's office. Get as much information on the children as possible, names, addresses, etc. Organize a block club and take collective action. Contact your alderman or councilman at city hall. You are a TAXPAYER. Make your elected officials do their jobs.
Also take video or pictures of the kids in action. Keep equipment handy. If the children have threatened you they have committed assault and a juvenile report can be filed on that too.
Finally, the news media is also a good way to put pressure on a community to respond. Calling the television station can be fruitless. I suggest contacting a local columnist that handles human interest stories.
Good luck.

Try want i did once. Snaped a picture of a kid with the evidence in his hand. Nice action shot too. The parents were giving a warning by their landlord and a good talking from the police. If it happens again your evicted. If you have web cam just place it in the window where most of the activity is going on. Then show the police. If you are one that fears for your safety let the police know. We here don't take no crap from these problem kids. And that goes for any outsiders that come in too. And they know it! Sounds like you live a neighbourhood where their are alot of lazy parents. But then again with the don't touch your kids new law out. The kids now have control of the parents.
Good luck with your aswers.

Surveillance cameras. They're very affordable these days and let's face it, cameras do not lie. The next time one of those brats threatens you, have a small voice recorder in your pocket and get that on tape too. Identify the brats and press charges. The police cannot prevent you from pressing charges. Then, file a civil suit for your damages. Depending on where you live, the parents may be held financially responsible for their children's actions. Maybe when they get hit in the pocket, they'll start caring about what their out of control kids are doing.

Great answers so far, I agree with most. I like the camera idea, but I'd go down to the police station and demand something be done. Also, move up the chain. Hell with it, go to the top, call the chief/sheriff. Then call the news-most have a call for action type of program. Show them the photos, and damaged property, etc. Chiefs and sheriffs and mayors and councilpersons and such all HATE negative media attention. And as the saying goes, the sh** will roll down, and something will be done.

If the little darlings destroy something that belongs to you. Sue the parents and include their homeowners insurance policy in the suit. That would be the legal way.
OK plan number 2. Find some little thug under 18 years of age, give him $100.00 for beating the little bullies to a pulp.
Plan number 3. Move.

I don't understand why the police can't do something, property destruction and threatening witnesses are serious crimes.
Just keep calling the police every time they are out in the open destroying property. If you have to get restraining orders against the kids for threatening you.

If you know who they are, get together with a couple of neighbors and grab them up off the street in one of your minivans. Then take them out to the woods for a little old-fashioned 'talkin to'.
When you're done, just dump them out in a park somewhere and let them limp home.
That's what the COPS used to do when I was a kid. No court, no parents, just a back alley beat-down. Saves on paperwork that way.

Video tape. Set up a camera and film them committing the act. Then take it to the cops, and stand there and laugh when the little punks get their happy @$$es hauled off.
What about putting claymore mines around your property. I bet if they lost some limbs or a life, they would leave you the hell alone. (relax - I am joking. This is a fantasy resolution.)

Talk to their parents. If that does not work, sue their parents.
