part of the reason may be that the seat doesnt fit you right which I will have to agree with the others. On the other hand it also may be because you are not used to the seat especially if it is a new one. It may need to just be broke in. I hadnt ridden in a long time and the first couple of days my butt hurt as well but since then it has stopped since I have gotton used to riding again.

The seat may be out of adjustment causing undue pressure being placed there. You can have a crappy seat. Maybe switching over to a different brand might be what your looking for. Jell seats are nice. They also make a twin pad seat that helps displace the pressure on your butt. Their ok for general riding. But I personally think their a little wide for a sport/racing bike.

Holy crap, you need to rephrase your question. Look at the garbage that came out to feed!
There were some sensible answers, such as the position (height, or for and aft) is off. Chances are though, that isn't it. If that is the problem, you get leg soreness, not butt soreness.
What is your build? Are you heavy-set, on a small saddle? There are gel saddles and/or ones with springs/shocks built into them. Check that out if you think that is the issue.
Finally, the most common problem: YOUR BUTT ISN'T ADAPTED TO THE RIDING YOU ARE DOING! It takes quite a few miles for the butt to become accustomed to the saddle. You should start slowly, 5-10 miles, build up to 20 miles, ride more often, and eventually you won't even know you have a butt because it will be so used to the saddle!
Cheers.

Because its a cheap seat.
Go to a bike shop, and ask what they'd suggest. There are many types of bicycle seats that are far more comfortable than the seat that came with your bike.

How about a serious response ....I work at a shop in Vancouver and have been in the industry for about 15 years bicycle seats are very individual what works for one person may not for another which is why we offer a 7 day trial on all our saddles try to find a shop near you that is as understanding as we are about the individuality of human asses ....If the saddle fits wear it. my first suggestion is to try an anatomically correct saddle your starting price point should be around $39 can if your serious about solving your dilemma my recommendation is the serfas rx saddles they are returned far less than any others i have sold.

You made need to get a padded seat at the bycycle store. Also, you may want to releave pressure on the tail bone by lifting off the seat before hitting a bump.

It may be the seat. if you have the money or inclination you may check out a local bike shop. They will be able to help get you fitted with one that will be much more comfortable.
Cheers
