Without a lot more information - make - model - condition - it would be impossible to even make a wild guess...Firearms like that are best taken to an expert. You certainly would hate to sell one for $1,000 when it was really worth $15,000 . If you're a member of the NRA take photos and a description, they will answer a question but NOT give you a value..Page 22 of the September "American Rifleman" has the address...
When it comes to historic firearms a very tiny difference can make one worth a fortune and others practically worthless...If you live in the east you might call one of the Civil War Museum's and see if they could help you out...
The actual site address that some have tried to give you is...
http://www.gunbroker.com
http://www.gunsamerica.com
You very well might be able to find what you're looking for on these sites, BUT, like I said, in the case of firearms like you have, take them to someone who knows what they are looking at.

really depends... some could be a hidden treasure and others are worth giving away to hang on the wall somewhere. do some searching on google if you know the model number or have some info off the rifle or other gun. there is a book, Gun Traders Guide, and it might have the remington, but probably not the civil war gun.

Question for you. Why would you want to sell family heirlooms for? I never would sell them But to answer your question, Do some research first. Try some local gun collectors, also go to antique stores and see if they know any gun collectors. I would seriously do a lot of research first. Try to sell them locally to someone who would give you a fair deal. EBay has had a lot of people scamming others lately. I was scammed. It is not a good thing. Try locally first. Go to http://www.gunbrocker.com/, you can't sell fully operation fire arms on eBay to my knowledge.

Go to the library or any good bookstore. There are published guides with descriptions ( you will have to be exact) and price ranges.
Otherwise I'll give $10.00 for the pair.
