I'm on my way of getting braces, and I have to wear a palet expander. Its been almost a week (on Tuesday it will be a week) and my Mom will stop turning it. But while I was eating it came off, I popped it back in but it's loose. Is it a good thing, meaning it expanded or should I talk to my orthodotist?

You need to call the orthodontist first thing in the morning. The cement that holds the expander in got weak and that is why it fell out. Keep it in as best you can because your palet will move back to its original place and you will have to wear the expander even longer (wont happen over night but can happen in just a few days).

No, it is not a good thing and you have to contact your dentist or orthodontist right away.

If your palatal expander is cemented, meaning you are not supposed to be able to remove it to turn the screw, it means that the bands around your teeth became lose and your appliance came out. It is good that you put it back in your mouth but you still have to contact your dentist quickly.

Sometimes things like that happen, and you don't know if its a good thing or not. To be on the safe side, I'd talk to your orthodontist. I hope this helps!

its a good thing, your right, it did work, but keep wearing it, even if it is too loose. You may want to call ur ortho, but its not an emergency. If you let him know, he might be able to take a look and quicken your misery and take off those braces!
