Lol, thanks for the laugh! I believe that has to be the funniest misconception of Islam I've heard so far!! No offense, just makes me giggle alot, lol!
Farting is not forbidden, it is human nature and the way our bodies are designed. Our farts are composed of gasses that originate in the bacteria present in our digestive systems, or in some cases the chemical reactions of the foods we eat.
I think what you are confusing is that after one farts, s/he has to make ablution before they pray. Passing gas and wastes, bleeding, vomiting, sleep and sexual intercourse requires that one make ablution or shower (wuduu or ghusl) before his prayers. This doesn't mean you run to wash every time you fart. It means that just before you make your prayers, you cleanse yourself.
I'm sure you know or understand a little bit about the importance of cleanliness and prayer, but if not just ask!

It is not prohibited but it is impolite specially inside the Mosque. If you do, you will be required to go outside and wash your butt and hands again then come back to pray. For the Muslims. it is a sign of disrespect to ALLAH. I am a Christian and I admire them for that.

it's not prohibited, farting breaks your wadu so you wont be able to pray, must make wadu again to become clean so you can stand in front of your creater clean and pray.
