I think it is bad for you to hate anyone, for anyone of us to hate someone. I can see that this may be hard for you to accept. It would be hard for me too, if it was my brother. I don't believe in homosexuality, just as I don't believe in abortion, drugs or driving while intoxicated. But, that does not mean I hate the people who do it.
Your brother must be having a rough time. Judgment is so harsh these days on people who are homosexual. You are the one who can be there for him, you are his brother, and he probably needs you right now.
I don't know why, but I picture someone who just told their loved ones they were gay, hiding in a dark closet, alone, crying their eyes out, with a rejected heart. That may be the place your brother is in right now. He needs you. Don't hate him. You can let him know you don't like what he is doing, but that does not stop you from loving who he is as your brother and human being.

It's not only bad, it's sad. I mean he is your brother and you were fine with him until he told you he was gay. Trust me when I tell you it is not his choice to be gay. He is no different today than he was 2 months ago. He is just gay. That doesn't make him a bad person. He still loves you and accepts you, you need to do the same thing for him....
Give him a call, and forget about the "gay" part. Just remember he is your brother. I would give anything to get along with my brother. He is straight, his wife is the problem.

It is bad to hate anybody. But I do understand that you can find it hard to accept that someones is gay, especially someone in your family, but you are his bother and he loves you and you love him just the same.

You don't have to support what he is doing or even think it is right. But you can try to understand, him be there for him. He was your brother before he became gay and he still is your brother. He is not hurting or harming anyone, he is not hurting or harming himself and he understands his decision.

Also, the time and energy you spend pondering through your negative thoughts and feelings towards him is damaging to you. Show him kindness, he may come round to your way of thinking and he may not but even the very worse people deserve love. After all, he is not a murderer, a pedophile or a rapist, he is simply not heterosexual. Think about it a little more.

Well, you talked to your brother "the day before he told you he was gay."

So since HE didn't change, the only thing that has IS YOU. He was the same guy that talked to you the day before he told you than he was the day BEFORE he told you - ONLY YOUR ATTITUDE towards him has changed, not HIM!

So, yes, if you believe its wrong to hate people for being different, then I do believe it is wrong. Do you think your brother would HONESTLY choose something that would HURT HIS FAMILY IF HE COULD HELP IT? I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT! He loves his family doesn't he?

I bet it took more courage for him to tell you, than you have in all of your body, after all, he knew he might lose his brother (and HE DID), while you have nothing to lose and you never have to make such a horrible choice to either live "your life" or lie to yourself and your family forever!

Good luck with your conscience, if you have one, I honest believe you do or you wouldn't be asking.

You shouldn't hate him just because of that. I mean he doesn't choose to be gay any more than you choose to be straight. He's your brother and if you should support anyone who is gay you should support your brother.

Anyways it doesn't make you any less of a guy to hang out with a gay person. I'm sure he won't try to "recruit" you.

As far as your question goes I think it's bad to hate any group of people. Call your brother up and tell him you want to chill and meet his boyfriend. YOU WON'T TURN GAY.

What you're feeling is a normal reaction. Its okay to feel "strange" or resentful because of the decision he has made, but it's NOT okay to exclude and estrange your brother from your life. What he needs right now is support, most definitely from his family. What you need to do is sit down and talk to him and tell him how you feel. You may be surprised that those feelings you are experiencing might be erased once you let it all out in the open!

Try to be supportive of your brother. It would have been hard for him to tell you abouthis boy-friend. It might take you a while to get used to the idea that your brother is gay, but he's still the same brother that you've always loved.

Hate is bad, no matter whom it is directed at. Anger is OK. You may feel hurt and betrayed that your brother is gay. But try to remember that he did not choose this life, and it is no one's fault. Tolerance is something you must work at, hating is easy. Hate will eat you up inside, you have to try to move past this.

It is wrong to hate anyone. Even the bible does not say to hate gay people. Hate his actions but love your brother. Who are you to judge him. I thought that was god's job. I would hate to do anything you don't approve of you would cut me out of your life also. Please don't have children they always do something parents don't approve of. Call your brother and apologize for hurting him. You don't have to say you approve of his being gay. If he is an adult he doesn't need your approval. I bet all he wants is for you to love him
