so that's 5 miles a day 5 days a week is this a good way to help me lose wieght... i'm 5'4 190 lbs

This is plenty of exercise, good for you. You're getting your exercise, so now watch your food intake, limit these foods and cut your portions in half at night time. cheese, sodas, sweet treats, fried foods, fast foods. Do include fruits, veggies, yogurts, deli sandwiches (subway) frozen weight watcher dinners, healthy choice etc.

Yes, that's a really good amount, but remember that you still need to limit your calories to lose weight. I got into a bad habit of doing 6 miles a day and not watching my calorie intake, and guess what? I gained weight ! That taught me a valuable lesson. My fault was portion size more than junk food. Try to eat slowly and watch your portion sizes, and try not to go back for seconds. Good luck to you.

I lost 30 pounds doing exactly that. At some point you might have to add in other things, but start with losing the 30. Good luck!

THat is a really good start. Make sure you are getting your heart rate up and keeping it up throughout your walk. This will ensure that you burn more calories, enabling you to burn more fat.
You are doing a great job, keep it up.
