And do the actors that advertize them get in that kind of shape just from the box flex????? I have my doubts

Am I wasting money buying one ...should I just stay with my free weights and bench?

Could the actors get that way from a bowflex? Absolutely.

Here's an interesting review of a Bowflex:

Yes, you'd be wasting a TON of money. Get yourself a better weight bench, or get a membership to a good gym.

The real advantage to a Bowflex is that it takes less space, you don't need a spotter, and it's cool.

But, at $700 for a low end unit that will only give you 200 pounds of total resistance, and limited stations, To the higher end units with 310 to 410 pounds of resistance and more stations costing $1500 to $2300, plus more if you want additional add-ons. You can buy one heck of a GREAT bench, and tons of weight for $700.

Hope that helps.

Are you talking about the bowflex? They are a good piece of equipment, and no the people who advertise with it don't get those bodies from it. They get those bodies from spending 3-4 hours a day in the gym.
I would stay with your free weights and bench and just get one piece of good equipment after another as they come along. I know people who have purchased the bowflex and they're all gathering dust now. They aren't used after they are bought. I think because it's just a pain to change it all the time and people get tired of it. I trained a client on his for awhile and he too got tired of it, that's why he hired a trainer to work with him on it, he didn't want to switch it all around.

Short answer is anything will work if you use it right and often. I personally feels it's a waste of money if you have access to a gym/weights. Yes they are paid actors, and I doubt they got that way by just using bowflex.

Why should you choose the Bowflex treadmill?
