She used to run to the bowl everytime we fed her, but now she eats only a little bit at a time, slowly through the day. She is otherwise healthy so is she just tired of her brand of food? Should we try switching it or just wait this out?

As long as she seems healthy, she's up to date on all her vaccinations and you are feeding a good brand of dog food don't worry about it at this point. She is doing what dogs should do, it's called free feeding and it's normal. When she used to run to the food was it when you first got her? She has probably realized now that she has no competition like she did as a puppy and doesn't have to hurry in order to get enough food before the other pups ate it all.
Like I said, if you are keeping her healthy in all other areas and all else is normal, don't worry about it. And by the way, if she's around 5 or 6 months, you'll want to get her spayed now, you don't need to let her go thru a heat cycle.

My dogs do that ALL THE TIME yes she is just tired of her food but you CANNOT give into her and get her a new brand then she will belive she has power over you and you will always get her what she wants! Dogs will not starve themselves so just keep offering it and she will soon take it but after a week or so and shes not eating you might wanna take her to a vet she could have some problems.....yup hope this helps!

Try to switch up a bit maybe serve two different brands or kinds of food together and see if she will eat either one of them.

If she doesn't want to eat anything then you should take her to a vet because this could be a sign of an underlying disease.

Hope this helps.

you can put some little veggies or meat on top and see if that sparks her interest.
And also she is getting older (she's still a puppy. i understand) so maybe she doesn't need to eat so much food anymore. Maybe she's getting to her maximum weight/height/length of her breed so, either that or try putting treats and if that doesn't work and you are still worried switch brands.
IAMS and Eukanuba are the best although they're the most expensive but dogs can taste the difference!

If you switch food you run the risk of her getting stomach upset and diarrhea. In my experience, dogs appetites change. They're like children. When they're hungry, they eat. They're not like adults. Sometimes when we eat we're not necessarily hungry. Don't worry about her. If you think she might be ill, take her to the vet. Otherwise just watch her and make sure she's not getting sick.

Take care of that wonderful little pup! She'll take care of you the rest of her life.

My dog did the same thing, so we used the same type of food and just changed it up one her. We mixed in some raw eggs,
(really healthy for a good coat) which she loved but then got bored of..... So we started getting that Iams savory sauce for her. It comes in different flavors and doesn't cost that much. She really likes it and always leaves her bowl empty :)
If it were me I wouldn't want the same thing day after day.

Don't try switching...wait it out. A dog will change eating habits from time to time. I know with bandit my lab/border collie mix, he use to inhale his food,...now he doesn't, instead he takes little bites out to the hall way, eats it and then comes back...So long as your dog is eating, and maintaining a healthy weight then I wouldn't worry about his or her enthusiasm for the food...

Its a good idea to probably take her to the vet. Some disease such as lyme disease for example has very subtle symptoms, such as loss of appetite or simply just not eating as much as they used to. Many owners miss the symptoms they are so subtle, but they will only come back in full force when the lyme disease gets stronger. Always a good idea to get tested, especially if you live in an area where there are alot of ticks.

have you had her checked for worms? if not I would get her to the vet fast. she could have worms or maybe something worse.eather that or has some one been feeding her table food? that could keep her from wanting her own food.

She is a "grazer". As long as she is eating enough thru the day, is healthy and not losing weight, she is okay.
