I assume you're talking about a new, CYO group. Most young people like active programs as opposed to sitting around and listening to someone talk. I don't know where you live, but outdoor programs are preferred by many. Our former Pope used to take young people skiing and mountain climbing. Afterwards, they would have a cookout and he would talk to them about spiritual things.
You have an advantage since your priest is young. He would be more fit to participate in active programs. Most priests are in their sixties.
If you are near a university, there are a lot of students who would volunteer to instruct in athletic programs.
A weekend away, perhaps at a state park could be fun. You could have games, music, food, and discussion groups.
Just be sure that you don't wear yourself out by organizing this group. The trick is to get several people to assist you in organizing. Be sure the priest doesn't expect you to do everything. Expect him to give some input, as well. Presumably he was taught about organizing a youth group while in seminary.

You don't say what sort of trip. If it's a just for fun outing, then a zoo, amusement park, skating, pizza and a movie, weekend of camping and canoeing, lotsa possibilities. If your'e thinking about some sort of fun service trip, my youth group kids love our trips to a local shelter where we serve dinner, play with the kids, visit with the adults for a couple of hours. For a major service trip (and a major life chaging experience) I recommend www.youthworks.com They have the absolute best summer mission trips for youth. Much more than just a work camp. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

sounds like a great time to me. So what if he's between the youngest childrens there he will have a great time. usually at a kids team they have scholarships if you do not have an excellent type of money so their newborn can attend a visit like this. Whitewater Rafting is fairly danger-free and that all of them placed on existence jackets in any case. i'd enable him flow. you're excuse that this is risky would not decrease if with me. Heck maximum something is risky. i understand lets not enable your son eat because he could choke, he can not take a bath through himself or bathtub because he could drown, heck even going to the save he will be in a automobile coincidence, etc......i understand the following is a concept why not placed him in a bubble hence he can not get damage. Wait existence would not artwork like that. fairly a lot something is risky and White Water rafting is an excellent journey and is exciting. this is not that risky esepcially if the classes are good.

I don't know when it is, and I don't know if you'd want to go,being catholic, but there is a thing called discipleship. I went on it with my church and it was sooo much fun :]
you could also always just do something fun like a camping trip or go white water rafting, to a theme park, skiing, whatever is close. If you want to make it a trip, you could stay in tents and camp, or get a hotel. Whatever works on your budget.

Why not take them all to a monastery for a few days? That would be an experience of a life time.
