Colonel Sanders was not there at that time neither is Ronald McDonald....... Seriously, the land of the Jews at that time are dependent only on fish and breads. Meats takes time to prepare and oftentimes prepared only for special occasions.
But what was not told was the miracle of sharing. Jews are known for keeping food for themselves as they travel to work or just spend time time outside their houses. When Jesus was giving sermon, many were told the importance of sharing, giving and sacrifices and at that time where there were only few loaves of bread and five fishes are available for the people, each started sharing what they have. The magic is not the dividing of the said foods but in the miracle of sharing which is more believable. Religion has tricked the world in the magics of Jesus than the importance of his teachings.

It was what they had that day.

They were fisherman. And all early cultures used bread as a staple.

God (and Jesus) doesn't always give you what you WANT (a catered meal) but what you NEED (food).

Christianity is about accepting that you may not be rich in an earthly term and understanding that the material best is not always the best answer to the problem

It's a metaphor for the real miracle -- jews brought food with them wherever they went and when they stopped to rest, they were like us today -- didn't want to take their food out to eat because they thought they'd then have to share it. One kid had a measly amount of food and, when he willingly brought his out and made it available to anyone, people saw their own selfishness and a real miracle occurred: they opened their hearts by seeing the selflessness of this boy and they brought out their food to share with anyone and everyone. Forget the magic; the real miracle is the change of mind/heart.

no....that is what He thought was best to do.....man you guys try and try and nit pick about every little idiotic thing to try and make Jesus look bad.....what has Jesus ever done to you?....really ..you may as well think about that because one day you really will have to stand before Him and tell him why you treated him this way........and just think all he did was love you so much that he spread his arms and died for you....

Always leave it to atleast one to complain about miracles..never good enough...it was an example that He can take whatever it is that you have and do something wonderful with it.

And besides all that..that's what they ate then.

That was enough. God gives you everything you need, not always what you want. They were miracles making all that bread and fish for thousands of people. Isn't that enough?

Prime example of why no matter what Jesus did, it will never be good enough for people who do not believe. let it go...if Christians try to "force it down ur throats", ignore them. don't hold it against them, they're just doing what they think is right. you trying to prove it wrong is actually doing the SAME thing as them trying to prove it right! :) human beings are strange creatures.. hypocrisy is built in, and seeing it in themselves is one the hardest things to do~~~

have fun, always seek and search knowledge to help *benefit* you and make u happy, positive and healthy... dont' waste ur time trying to put people and their beliefs down, it's not worth it. and same goes to christians who put others down, that's not right either. no one is perfect :)
