They were a married couple. Surely they 'got it on' from time to time. Also is it hard to believe that Jesus possibly married (Magdelene?) and had children himself?

Does anyone believe that there is a bloodline continuing to this day?

Mary remained virgin.

Very Christian response, Christianman. Thank you. And by the way.... if Jesus was Mary's "First Born"....how could James be his biological brother? James was older than Jesus.

Familiar with what is called "Prefigurements"? Old Testament passages that relate a New Testament reality....such as, Isaiah 66:7, Before she comes to labor, she gives birth; Before the pains come upon her, she safely delivers a male child. 66:8 Whoever heard of such a thing, or saw the like? ( a prefigurement indicating the virgin birth without pain, also indicating Mary remained virgin after the birth)

And take a look at the Old Testament Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 44 verse 1 & 2. Then he (God) brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, facing the East; BUT IT WAS CLOSED. He said to me: THIS GATE IS TO REMAIN CLOSED; IT IS NOT TO BE OPENED FOR ANYONE TO ENTER BY IT; SINCE THE LORD, THE GOD OF ISRAEL, HAS ENTERED BY IT, IT SHALL REMAIN CLOSED.

Although this is Old Testament and is interpreted as a prefigurement, can you not see the significance of this passage? Because God has entered this gate it shall be closed to anyone else to enter?

Custom of the time REQUIRED an adult son to take in and care for an older widowed mother. Why did Mary live the remainder of her life with the Apostle John?

Much to a lot of good people's surprise, there is a great deal of scriptural basis for Mary's Virgin conception, virgin birth, and perpetual virginity if you only read the Old Testament along with the New in its complete context and allagorical prefigurement prose. Saint Augustine once said the New Testament is hidden within the Old and the Old Testament is revealed in the New.

And finally.... I know everyone keeps citing that Jesus had brothers and sisters. First...read the original Greek to see the true meaning of this wording. And remember, when Jesus was told His mother and borthers were outside wanting to see Him, He responded with....Who is my Mother? Who are my Brothers? and He went on to say that whoever loves Him and follows Him is His Mother and Brothers.

Jesus Christ himself never married or had sexual relations or biological children. He is the second Divine Person of the Holy Trinity. Jesus is God, the Son. He was perfect and without sin.

God Bless......

Just depends on which church you belong to. Some churches believe Mary and Joseph DID have other children, and at least one of these children played a pivotal role with Mary at the Cross.
Jesus may well have married, if not Magdelene, then someone else. And if not married, at least had a relationship. He was, after all, a man. That was the whole point of his time on earth. Had he claimed divinity, he would never have suffered on the cross and died as he did.

Not only were they married, but instead of having her stoned, he married her anyway. With that kind of love, how could anyone think that Mary remained a virgin after the birth of Jesus?
The bible would have recorded it if Mary remained a virgin. The bible recorded names with what they were know for, like, Jesus the Christ, Lemech the Blind, Abel the good, But nowhere in the bible does it say anything about Mary the Virgin, except the conception and delivery of Jesus. After that, it does show that Mary had other children. Jesus even called them His brothers. Jesus was not on the earth long enough for Mary Magdeline to have conceived a child and have it after His Crucifixion. During the weeks leading up to His crucifixion, He was never alone, except in the wilderness, and she was not there with Him, unless she were the devil. He was also extremely busy trying to teach His disciples and others the way to eternal life. That plus the fact that the bible mentions nothing of her being pregnant either before or after the crucifixion, completely blows that one out of the water. Especially with everyone watching Him months before. She would have been showing or sick, and the bible mentions neither.

I don't see how Mary and Joseph could not have had more children. It might soothe some people's beliefs that Mary stayed a virgin, but I don't see how anyone over the age of 12 could believe that. If Joseph didn't have sex with his wife, who did he have sex with? Because no man is going to go his whole life and not have sex, especially if he marries a woman. Surely she would have some desire as well? Stop looking at images, and start thinking of real people, desires, and even their culture. If Mary wouldn't have sex, or children, back then, the wife would be put aside for another woman who could.

It isn't hard to believe that Mary and Joseph never had any other children. As in many marriages of the day, he was old and she was very young. However, it is impossible for me to believe that Mary just randomly had a kid without a conception. I think she was having an affair or had "gotten it on" (as you put it) with another guy before their marriage. I bet she just told Joseph that the angel came to her a. because she was mentally ill or b. because she wanted to hide the fact that she was not a virgin.
As to your second question, very little is known about the whole Mary Magdalene/Jesus thing, so it's pretty futile to speculate in my opinion. After all, "The Da Vinci Code" is fiction.

The scriptures clearly show that Joseph and Mary had normal sexual relations as husband and wife and that they had a number of children after Jesus was born. The Scriptures also clearly show that although Mary was a great woman, she was still human and not deserving of worship. That's a question we will consider at another time.

Mary and Joseph did have other children. The Bible refers to Jesus' brothers and sisters on more than one occasion. Jesus does not have a bloodline because He never married and He certainly did not reproduce.

The Bible does speak of Jesus' brothers and sisters. The theory about Jesus getting married, I think is pure fallacy. Jesus was a homeless vagabond, and an enlightened spiritual master, not to mention the Son of the Most High God.

But the couple were not the ordinary type. Mary could not have been single and with Jesus because the people would say that she had an affair without marriage, and the penalty of that is stoning.

Jesus had four step-brothers and, at least, two step-sisters.

Matthew 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Despite a popular work of fiction, He did not marry Mary Magdalene.
