As a Christian in this day and age, I have to laugh at people when they say there is no factual backing behind our religion. Today, evidence is coming from all over the place that shows the Bible is full of facts. An earlier poster suggested a web address, and I might also suggest watching the different documentaries on the History or Science Channels...they are proving these facts all the time. And although it may have taken "the leap of faith" on my part to keep my values in place, it is a fact that when you live by the standards of the Bible you are a much happier person. Although it may be impossible to live by all the standards all the time, they do make for a much easier and happy life. I know that in helping other people I feel so much happier inside...and thats a fact, and social science has proven that fact. And I could go on and on. So apparently, you have not done your homework and are just assuming that Christianity is just a leap of faith, and have closed your eyes to the facts as they are. I encourage you to open your eyes and heart, and find the love of God as Jesus taught us. You will be much happier......and that's a fact!

If you want facts, go pick up a book by Lee Strobel called "The Case For Easter". He began as an athiest trying to prove that the whole Jesus thing was a bunch of crap. In the process he became a Christian. Hmm, maybe we all just rubbed our craziness off on him, or maybe, just maybe, he saw the truth in what he was studying. THe book costs maybe $2.50 and can be read in an afternoon. You won't be out much at all to just see what he found.

Faith is a big one.,.. but no one makes rules on who or what you can have faith. I have faith in myself. I control myself at all times, i know what i look like, i know what my capabilities are.
God... thats like having an imaginary friend. I think faith in god helps some people work through lifes bumps, buts its not reality its what our mothers told us when we were little. I was also told if you step on a crack you'll break your mother back. Thats gotta be written in a book somewhere... why doesnt every one just belive that? its written down.
I think Jesus is the best salesman the earth has ever seen and nothing more. thats all ill give him credit for.

A book you could read that would answer all your questions is,"A Case For Christ' by Lee Strobel. Get the student version. It'smuch easier to read. He once was an Athiest (non believer) for much of his life and writes about the questions he had and the extreme resources he dug through to get the concrete"facts" of Jesus. He writes how it turned him from a non believing scientist to a believer. If you're not looking to be a believer, at least read it for the facts you are looking for. He gives references for it all. Good luck!

There is simply not much writing about anyone from 2000 years ago. I don't think you understand history or how long ago that is. People did not go about writing journals or their everyday lives. They wrote about Christ at age 30-33 during his ministry and up until his death. If you notice after that there is a history of 2000 years of written material for you to reference about him.

There are many records of his life from this time period. The Latter-day saints have recorded them in length. In addition, there are documented events within the Bible that indicated his life at age 25. Do you only belive in what's been written 15t00 years ago or do you make up your own mind?

Faith

The answer IS faith.... Man's knowledge is foolishness to God. I don't need a bunch of factual scientific facts to affirm my beliefs. My life has completely changed for the better since returning to Christ. So my life and the peace that accompanies it is all the evidence that I need.

Faith is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof. You obviously do not have faith if you do not even understand the definition of it.

Try googling "evidence for Jesus"... you'd be very surprised at what you'd find out there.

There's plenty of evidence (archaeological, historic and bibliographical) for the existence of Jesus...take a look!
