Sure...
Scientology is a destructive cult started by L Ron Hubbard, perhaps tjhe greatest conman to have ever lived, in the 1950's.
You can look back at my Q&A for more info, esp. the recent questions I just asked. I have just made this an answer of links, but have written more in previous answers, see here for one:
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsDl_XDW1iGgP.n0qDZmRakgBgx.?qid=20060809203629AA2MAwg
Scientology pretends they have the only answers for mankind, to improve himself to previously unknown states of awareness and ability. Needless to say this is a lie, and they have never proved any of their claims.
So I'll just lead you through what is scientology via these articles and links below. That way you can make up your own mind, by all means visit their sites for balance too, but I won't be posting them...
Quick overview on why Scientology is dangerous.

Its a bunch of methods researched by a writer back in the 1950's when you had to be medical or religion to help people. They have courses in communication, study, getting off drugs, shaking peer pressure, gettng past blocks in your life.
According to the anti-scientology sites.. most people take one or two of the cheapest courses then move on to other things.

I wondered to and did some research. They believe that there are aliens out there more advanced than us. they are right there is. God and the other angels were not on this planet when they created it. They believe that these aliens look different from us.
They do, God is a spirit person and so are the angels.
They made the earth habitable for humans and they did.
then they figured out a way to make animals and sea creatures and after billions of years came up with a man and women.
After starting it off, they are sitting back and expecting us to solve our own problems. That is where they are wrong.
God gave us the book to follow a set of rules. He helps people and guides our footsteps. They feel science will solve all mans problems even over come death and dying. Have there bodies frozen to be thaw out when there is a way to continue living.
The only way to live forever is if god wants you to.

Scientology has been established both by scholars in academia and by court victories around the world as a bona-fide religion.
Courts in the United States have always held that Scientology is a religion; indeed, in a September 1993 federal appeals court ruling, the judges pronounced that there had not been a single instance in which a United States court held otherwise.
The most significant official recognition of the Scientology religion came in October 1993 when the United States Internal Revenue Service granted full religious recognition to all churches of Scientology and related social betterment organisations, concluding after an exhaustive and thorough review that Scientology churches are established and operated exclusively for religious and charitable purposes. The IRS also determined that Scientology is a bona fide religion and that the Church of Scientology met the detailed criteria of the IRS to qualify as a “Church.”
The IRS examination was not limited to the United States, but specifically included reviews of the financial affairs and activities of Church organisations from Australia to Europe. Its findings were uniform — churches of Scientology operate for the benefit of the public interest.
European governments have since then rendered similar recognitions of the religious and charitable status of churches of Scientology. Often, they were preceded by rulings of the leading courts.
Scientology is about the individual man or woman. Its goal is to bring an individual to a sufficient understanding of himself and his life and free him to improve conditions in the way that he sees fit.
The word Scientology literally means "the study of truth." It comes from the Latin word "scio" meaning "knowing in the fullest sense of the word" and the Greek word "logos" meaning "study of."
Scientology is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all of life. The Scientology religion comprises a body of knowledge extending from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these:
Man is an immortal, spiritual being. His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime. His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized — and those capabilities can be realized. He is able to not only solve his own problems, accomplish his goals and gain lasting happiness, but also achieve new, higher states of awareness and ability.
The Scientology religious philosophy contains a precise system of axioms, laws and techniques, exhaustively researched and documented as workable. As such, it provides the individual with the ability to dramatically improve conditions, not only in his own life but in the world around him.
In a word, Scientology works.
And this is why millions of people the world over use its principles in their daily lives, why a growing number of people find such relevance in Scientology for themselves, their families, their organizations, their nations and this entire civilization.
All Scientologists are drug-free, and spearhead effective actions in countries around the world to get others off drugs. Scientologists have helped millions of underprivileged children to dramatically improve their reading level, vocabulary and comprehension, and the record of Scientology’s fight for human rights is unparalleled. Scientology’s commitment to social betterment activities also includes rehabilitating criminals and teaching people right from wrong.
The aims of Scientology are a civilization without war, without insanity and without criminals, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights and man is free to rise to greater heights.
Scientology is not authoritarian. There is no enforced belief. Rather, a maxim in Scientology is that only those things which one finds true for himself are true. In Scientology one learns to think for himself – it is a voyage of self-discovery.
The true story of Scientology is simple, concise and direct. It is quickly told:
1. A philosopher develops a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.
And as for the anti-Scientology websites: Scientology is opposed by people because it is about doing good. We are helping millions of people and bettering society as a whole. Yet, there is always a small percentage of the population that vigorously opposes any social betterment activity. The operators of the anti-Scientology websites are exposed for the anti-religious bigots they are at the Religious Freedom Watch website. Those who bash Scientologists have ties to terrorism, racism and copyright anarchism. And they're losing while Scientology continues to grow. It is the world's fastest growing religion.
