This is perhaps the hardest to explain, I am not sure if you are judged right off, If you made it to Heaven you don't have anything to worry about. But, you are judge at some point, it's not like you think, this place is like earth, except very much larger, there is many buildings, one is where you go to be judged, you basically go into a room, and your life passes before your eyes, everything you ever done, all the wrongs you done to someone, and you get to feel their pain that you caused, you get to feel all you ever done from the others side, feelings, pain, perspectives, views, and you'll know what you did wrong and what it felt like from that other person.
Then once everyone goes through this progress then you can live with the others. depending on the degree of faith, knowledge, and other factors... depends on what more you need to learn in Heaven, they have schools, teachings, except more advanced. I have so much knowledge about Heaven, I have two sources where I gain this information, and I know it's the truth, it's also the way I always felt it was.

In my opinion, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Final Judgment has yet to happen. I believe that the spirits of all who have ever lived have gone on to a different realm for the time being - what Jesus referred to as Paradise or the spirit world. That is a place where more learning and growing take place, including where the Gospel is preached to everyone in a way that they can understand it. (See 1 Peter 4:5-6). The physical body itself waits here on earth in the grave or burial urn (however it has been arranged - or wherever the remains have ended up) until the Resurrection, but our spirits are eternal and keep existing. After the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, it will be impossible for anyone to deny His existence, and then and only then will it be fair to execute the Final Judgment. I believe God will give everyone every possible chance to learn about the Gospel and to learn what the Atonement and the process of repentance is for. Thanks for asking a good question that points out how merciful God is towards all His children. Have a happy day!

The Bible doesn't answer all our questions about life after death—but it does tell us very clearly that that when we die we go immediately into the presence of the Lord if we know Christ. Paul's great hope was "to be away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).

How is this possible? It's possible for one reason: Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for our sins. You see, when He died on the cross, all of our sins—not some of them, but all of them—were transferred to Him. He was sinless, but He willingly took the punishment you and I deserve. The Bible puts it this way: "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Let me illustrate it this way. Suppose you went to the bank and borrowed a large sum of money to buy a house. As long as you owed that debt, the house wouldn't really be yours, and you'd have to keep on paying. But then suppose someone came along and paid off your debt. Would you keep on making payments to the bank? No, of course not—because the debt had already been cancelled.

In a far greater way, we are all guilty before God, and our sins have created a debt to Him we can never repay—never. But listen: Jesus Christ has already paid it—completely and fully! The debt has been cancelled! Why fear death any longer? Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ today

We stay in the ground until resurrection day. jesus said no man has ascended unto heaven. Othe Bible quotes are: the dead know nothing, David said that I know my God will not leave my soul in the grave. All Christian denomination founding forfathers believed in resurrection day, so did the apostles. Churches gave up these teachings about 150 years ago and started converting their beliefs back to the days of greek mythology.

I don't mean to be rude but your pastor is lying to you like most of them do. If one preaches the truth then few will follow and the preacher becomes poor due to lack of financial offering. look around at the size of your church, how big is it ? Then consider all the other churches around that claim to be Christian. Then think of what Christ said in Matt. 7:14 "few there be that find it"
Seek out God on your own, most true Christians do not attend church.

No one knows where we go. A destination has never been proven. That is why it's called faith or belief. The only way to find out for sure is to wait until your time comes and then find out if your spiritual advisor was right.

Too many times religious scholars explain religion as fact and that is very irresponsible. Keep in mind (since you speak of the bible) that the bible has never been proven as fact. It is, until proven differently a work of fiction written for man by man.

The only thing for sure is when your body dies unless it is cremated or cryogenicly frozen will rot just like any other slab of meat.

Daniel read the very last verse:
and as for you yourself go toward the end and you will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days.
He is resting in the grave awaiting a resurrection during the reign of Jesus Christ, during the 1000 years, all those who have died will be resurrected.
Job prayed to die when he was so ill and begged God to hide him in the grave. Shell

Read the book Home with God by Neale Donald Walsch for an interesting new perspective on the subject of death and what happens to the soul when you die. Cool stuff!

once you die you both flow to hades or heaven. After Jesus receives anybody after his 2d coming the White Throned Judgment will commence. Hades will throw up its human beings and heaven will teach its human beings. Then anybody will be judged for what they did on earth. once judgment is over, all those who became not got here around the Lambs (Jesus) e book of existence will be thrown into the lake of fireplace (Hell) or commonly used because the 2d lack of existence. all those who became got here across with Christ are to be welcomed and could live in his kingdom for ever. First of all trust the Bible, it has more history than your pastor.
When people died before Jesus came to earth they all went to a place called Hades. Hades was made up of two parts, one called Sheol when unbelievers went, and one called Paradise or Abraham's Bosom, where believers went. When Jesus died He descended into Hades and when He left He took all believers with Him to Heaven. Now when a believer in Christ dies they go directly to heaven to be with Christ. Non believers still go to hades where they will stay until the judgment day. Believers could not go directly to heaven until Jesus had died and paid for their sins. There is good scripture to back al of this up, so read your Bible.

Dear Roxane,

a lot of it may depend on your end times position (when you believe the rapture will occur, etc.)

i would suggest reading the book of 1 Thessalonians. i think that when we die, we are in the presence of the Lord (if we know Him).

i would suggest to you getting a systematic theology (there are chapters that address this issue),and you will be able to study the individual passages that address this.

You should ask your pastor to give you Bible verses that support what he is telling you. If you'd like you can email me some of those things and i can respond and also give you additional passages. My email is: nicksterlee@yahoo.com

hope that helps,

Nickster
